A September 5 clip shared by BrutalSam shows the PS5 edition of GTA V running its North Yankton prologue on a PC through KytyPS5, at a reported 40–60 FPS. TweakTown connected that progress to GTA 6: perhaps emulation could make the console version playable on PC before Rockstar releases a native port.

What the GTA V test establishes
GTA V already has a native PC version. The purpose of this demonstration is to test PS5 compatibility, rather than provide another way to play GTA V.
The footage comes from custom emulator builds. BrutalSam’s follow-up identifies forks and local builds, while the KytyPS5 project warns of limited compatibility, crashes and graphical problems. The frame rate shown in a short prologue sequence is not a full-game benchmark, much less a GTA VI benchmark.
There is also no official PC date to compare against. Rockstar currently lists November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Predictions that emulation will beat the PC port remain speculation.
FiveM shows why a PC release and a hosting launch are separate
GTA V Enhanced reached PC on March 4, 2025. FiveM for GTAV Enhanced entered early access on July 21, 2026, with separate Cfx Server binaries. Even within GTA V, the game and its community-server platform had different release schedules.
FiveM provides a multiplayer framework around GTA V. Operators run separate server software; the players run compatible clients. Moving a PS5 executable into an emulator does not build that framework for GTA VI or make it compatible with today’s FiveM servers.
The PC shown in the demo is also rendering a player’s game. Its hardware and frame rate tell us nothing reliable about a future GTA VI server’s RAM requirements, player capacity or hosting price.
As of September 8, Rockstar and Cfx.re have not announced GTA VI dedicated server files or a supported community-server platform. Survival Servers does not currently offer GTA 6 hosting.
