Passive skill odds
The child first inherits some of the parents' passives, then rolls extra random ones, up to four in total. Count the different passives across both parents and how many of them you want on the child.

Every Palworld breeding combo, explained
There are 288 breedable Pals in Palworld 1.0, which makes 41,616 different parent pairs. Nearly all of them follow one rule: the game averages the two parents' hidden breeding powers and the child is the Pal whose power is closest to that average. The Every combo tab lists the result for any Pal against all 287 others.
The 82 special pairs
A special pair is checked before the maths. It always makes its listed child, and that child comes from no other pair. Most of them make a subspecies: Relaxaurus Lux, Vanwyrm Cryst, Mossanda Lux, Incineram Noct, Kitsun Noct, Celesdir Noct. Two of them depend on which parent is which gender: a female Katress with a male Wixen makes Katress Ignis, the other way round makes Wixen Noct.
The 24 Pals that only breed from themselves
Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius, Necromus, Orserk, Shadowbeak, Faleris, Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Bellanoir Libero and the rest of the self-only list never come out of a mixed pair. You need a male and a female of the same Pal, which is why a legendary pair is worth so much.
Using the list
Type a Pal in the filter box on the Special combos tab to see its pairs. Open the Every combo tab, pick a Pal, and you get one row per partner with the child. The Find parents tab on the breeding calculator turns the question round and lists every pair that makes the Pal you want.
Where the list comes from
The pair table and the special pairs are read out of the game files by PalCalc (MIT licence). This page ships PalCalc v28, built from Palworld 1.0, and is rebuilt when the game changes.
The special pair list is not copied from a wiki. It is the set of pairs in the datamined table whose child comes from that pair alone, which is how the game defines it, and every entry on the community wikis is in it.
Breeding on your own server
Egg hatching time is a server setting. On a dedicated server a huge egg can hatch in minutes, and the panel's Palworld settings form changes it without touching a file.
