Yes, console versions are on the way. Gamepires has said it plans to take SCUM multiplatform, and the game was rated for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2024. There's no console release date yet, and no word on whether console players will be able to join PC servers. As of v1.0 released on June 17, 2025, SCUM does not offer official modding tools or Steam Workshop integration, but does support manual modding. You can upload mods via FTP and modify startup commands or INI files. Most hosting providers support mod installation, though all players must have the same mods installed.
Minimum 8GB RAM is recommended, with more needed for high player counts. A 64-bit Windows system is required as SCUMServer.exe is 64-bit only. Due to SCUM's demanding system requirements and complex simulation, dedicated hosting typically requires robust hardware with fast CPUs and NVMe storage.
