System Requirements
- A Windows or Linux host with reliable upload bandwidth and a stable public connection
- Java 25 runtime (OpenJDK or Oracle JDK)
- 4 GB RAM minimum (depends on player count and world size)
- Disk space for server files, world saves, logs, backups, and plugin or mod data
- Port forwarding capability on your router

- Server Files - HytaleServer.jar and Assets.zip (via hytale-downloader with OAuth)
- Configuration - JSON format (config.json for the server and each world, permissions.json, bans.json)
- Universe Directory - World data stored in

Launch Command
- Hytale uses this launch pattern:

Yes, your world stays on the server and there is nothing to migrate. The server needs the Chapter 1 build before players on the new version can join: set Server Update to Yes, run update and click Save Settings & Restart. It is one step, and you may need to do it once after the Hytale launcher updates the game on your PC.
