Frequently Asked Questions about Deadside Server Hosting

No. Bad Pixel and tinyBuild have never released Deadside dedicated server files to the public, so there is no way to download and run your own Deadside server. Private servers are rented through hosting providers licensed by tinyBuild. Survival Servers plans to offer Deadside server rentals if licensing opens up to more hosts, and you can join the notification list on this page to be the first to know.

Deadside private servers support between 20 and 80 player slots depending on the configuration, with 20 slots as the minimum. Server owners can also limit maximum squad size separately to keep large groups from dominating solo players and smaller crews.

Deadside 1.0 offers four server modes: PVP (full combat and raiding), PVE (no player-versus-player combat), PVP No Raids (combat allowed but bases are safe), and PVP Schedule Raids (raiding restricted to set time windows). Server owners can also schedule automatic wipes weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Yes. Deadside has official Steam Workshop support with more than 900 mods, and the developer publishes a modkit for creators. PC servers can load Workshop mods, covering everything from loot and gameplay tweaks to new events.

Deadside is available on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. Crossplay works between the two consoles, so PlayStation and Xbox players can share a server, but PC players play on separate PC-only servers.
