Maevrim got a reaction from BennyP in Downloading Save Folder
No problem, glad it worked! Yeah, all you need is game.db which is your most current game save. If for some reason it doesn't load on your new server, you should go back through the backups and try uploading them (change the name to game.db) until one does.
Some versions of Windows have certain write protections in certain locations. It happens

Maevrim reacted to Postpaleo in What do these options do PLEASE
Apems, I think Maevrim is right and you might be better off asking over on Steam.
But, I tried getting speed up on crafting too, set it back today when my server finally came up. I think I read it's one of the funny ones, one if you set the number higher, it gets slower and think I read something like a .3 or a .1 would be faster. But again, it might be turned off for now.
It's like all this time I keep reading about shield damage, people keeping more than one in their inventory, and I thought, then why don't I ever have to repair mine. You have to use the right mouse button to use the shield, it isn't an auto thing, apparently. My encumbrance is going to be less now, lol. There is a learning curve to all of this and then they'll change it ;p
Edit: From a steam page.

Yeah, it's on a dedicated server and using the scroll goes to 10 max. But it still seems really slow to even cook meat. The slider in the in game admin adds ItemConvertionMultiplier=X to the ServerSettings.ini
You have the value reversed. 1.0 is default and 2.0 makes it take twice as long, 10.0 is 10x longer.
Try 0.1 instead.
I know it's confusing because it says "speed", so higher should logically mean faster, but what it actually is is a multiplier so higher means longer craft times. Last edited by Ancient; Feb 2 @ 1:09pm -

I can connect to FTP. So there is nothing wrong with connectivity to the server on the backend. Not sure what they are currently working on though.
My server went from Unknown to Stopped. So its possible they are stopping all servers to not create tons of traffic from people constantly trying to update/start their servers.

All Dallas servers? If so that explains it Benny went to visit them and accidentally tripped on a power cord.

Your best bet is probably the official Tech Manual.
DL link -- http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/440900/manuals/ConanExiles_TechManual.pdf
edited to add: oops, slow on the typing here.
There's also this from the official wiki: http://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Server_Configuration

So did we. It's a form interface to help you create your serversettings.ini file more easily. The configuration page I linked from the official wiki will explain each option more.

Limitation of early access game. I've seen this complaint on Steam and other forums.

Maevrim reacted to BennyP in Asks for Password with No Set Password
Conan Exiles devs design how the game works on a server. Survival Servers has no control what a patch does to the server once a new patch is released. Survival Servers dont create the file structure on the server nor how it operates on their servers. A hosting company is there to host your hardware and server instance and provide connection to the internet. They have to pivot and mitigate the issues that patches cause.
Game related and server related issues usually go hand in hand. Server infrastructure is pretty straight forward.

Maevrim reacted to Postpaleo in What is going on here today?
No, I don't. Saw your post but it is painful, and iffy, to get this site to function right now.
I don't have a lot of exp with hosts, but a little from playing ARK early access. I had two hosts, the first you had to know ini, config stuff, the second I did not. I kept the second. Service wasn't real good at the start, with either. Bugs, early access, lag, rubberbanding (same as now, only it was worse with ARK) Do not expect AAA rated game service right off the bat, just get it out of your head now. I don't have a clue what happened as of now, we will hear from them in time and each will decide what to do.
I sent in one ticket here, said up to 24 hours for a reply, that is a turn off, but I fixed the problem by reading here, myself. I have the lowest ping I have ever had for any game yet, with them. The little down time I have had, due to black screen restarts and server disconnects was solved by restarting server here, which up until today was easy and fast. Rates are good. I made a suggestion here in the forums for the control panel and it was done within 5 freaking minutes, no lie. I still am aghast, lol. I'm not ready to jump ship yet, but I may own another server before the day is out.

Power tripped last night causing ~ 10 machines to go down, our notifier did not catch them until just now as that was having issues too. Both are fixed.
I do apologize for the extended downtime folks. Everything should be back up now.

Maevrim reacted to TechieDaddy in DYNDNS or No-IP
So I've been digging around on this one and I may have found a solution... posting here just as an FYI for others:
NO-IP.com does allow for you to manually set an IP address; you wont need the client running on the server as IPs assigned from SS seem to be static. This method would allow you to enter in a server via the Steam server console as "conan.ddns.com:38216" and that would connect the gamer to your server. <-- Easy and Free way If you already own a domain/hosting you can add an a-record to your hosted DNS that will point "conan.yourdomainname.com" to your SS assigned IP address, allowing the gamer to enter via the Steam server console "conan.yourdomainname.com:38216" and that would connect the gamer to your server. <-- This is the route I'm going as it's a little cleaner and professional than using a free domain such as ddns.com Using a domain as opposed to an IP is much easier in terms of remembering, sharing, linking your server and most importantly should you ever need to migrate from one VHOST or Provider to another, all you'd have to do is update the NO-IP or DNS record to the new IP address and all of your gamers are none the wiser of the change. Completely transparent to them and best of all, no loss in gamer population due to them not knowing what your new IP is.
Hope this is helpful to someone.

Maevrim reacted to Kiln in Item Durability Config Question
I run the following settings on my server.
DurabilityMultiplier=0.2 ShieldDurabilityMultiplier=2.0 Both seem to work fine, however, it's important to note they aren't supported in the "Modify Server Config" tool. So if you do change anything in there and save the .in it will remove the entries. You have to manually login to the FTP site and modify the file yourself to get to them to work. Be careful using the DurabilityMultiplier as it affects both armor and weapons. It's tough to get a good balance between weapons not decaying to fast and armor never decaying. I find that that between .2 and .3 is a good range. It's also important to note that the config settings DO NOT impact tools. I have found no way to change the durability of picks and axes. Good luck on your happy balance of durability!
