  1. Post modified... request for refund submitted via pm and support request.
  2. Tried to update name of server and now stuck in unknown for about an hour. Servers been inaccessible just about all weekend now. Problem after problem. I'm sure it's not for a lack of trying on SS's end... I just think perhaps they bit off more than they can chew and are overextending and overpopulating their virtual hosts. Might be time for a refund if they can't get a handle on this like yesterday. GAME SERVER ID #34614
  3. So I've been digging around on this one and I may have found a solution... posting here just as an FYI for others: NO-IP.com does allow for you to manually set an IP address; you wont need the client running on the server as IPs assigned from SS seem to be static. This method would allow you to enter in a server via the Steam server console as "conan.ddns.com:38216" and that would connect the gamer to your server. <-- Easy and Free way If you already own a domain/hosting you can add an a-record to your hosted DNS that will point "conan.yourdomainname.com" to your SS assigned IP address, allowing the gamer to enter via the Steam server console "conan.yourdomainname.com:38216" and that would connect the gamer to your server. <-- This is the route I'm going as it's a little cleaner and professional than using a free domain such as ddns.com Using a domain as opposed to an IP is much easier in terms of remembering, sharing, linking your server and most importantly should you ever need to migrate from one VHOST or Provider to another, all you'd have to do is update the NO-IP or DNS record to the new IP address and all of your gamers are none the wiser of the change. Completely transparent to them and best of all, no loss in gamer population due to them not knowing what your new IP is. Hope this is helpful to someone.
  4. Wondering if it's possible to use a service such as DYNDNS or NO-IP with a server provided by SS. Typically these dynamic DNS services require a client to be installed, but without access to the virtual servers I'm not sure if it's possible. Anyone familiar with how to do this or whether its possible; perhaps a dynamic DNS service that doesnt require a client rather lets you manually specify the WAN IP thats being routed to the domain. If youre wondering why I'd like to use a domain over IP: 1- Its easier for gamers to remember conan.no-ip.com vs 123.456.78.910:1234 2- If for whatever reason your virtual server needs to be swapped from one host to another; you dont have to worry about how to communicate to your gamers on what the new IP is Thanks for any help on this.
  5. Why is it everytime I check on my server it is in a stopped state? How am I ever supposed to amass a loyal Player base if the server isn't stable enough to stay running? this is a major concern for me as I've noticed it just stopped on its own at least 5 or 6 times and I haven't even owned the server for 24 hours. Restarting seems to fix it until it decides to randomly stop again.
  6. Interestingly enough my server says started/ready! meanwhile in the ingame server browser my server is searchable maybe 50% of the time. Am i doing something wrong here?
  7. Anyone have any idea as to what the proper values are for the "Server Community" value in the ServerSettings.ini file. Right now its set to Server Community = 0 which forces my server to only be listed in game under the "All" filter. I'd like for it to display under the RolePlaying filter.
  8. Reference the technical guide here: http://www.gamingalliance.com.au/ConanExiles_TechManual.pdf There are server options in that guide that are not available via the server admin console here. Why is that? Also the majority of the settings in the console are missing their descriptions and their acceptable options (i.e. server community requires the correct option for RP PVP BLITZ ETC). How are we supposed to know what these are if they are not listed in the console?
