StealthyMartian reacted to Chocobeau in ARK: Extinction Bugs, Issues, and Misc.
These are the current issues that we have encountered with ARK: Extinction since it's release. Wildcard is aware of these issues and are most likely working on a patch to address these.

If we discover any further issues, bugs, or otherwise, we will update this post with more information.

    Issues and Bugs

    Enforcers

While this is an issue with the PS4 version of ARK, this may occur as well:

At this time, Wildcard has disabled the usage of Enforcers on the PS4 version of ARK, due to server instability and crashing that occurs when they are summoned. The Enforcers can be created via the city terminals, but summoning them has been disabled to prevent server issues.

    Scrap Metal Smelting

There is a small issue with scrap metal not smelting within a Forge since the Extinction release. Some users have found that placing a new Forge or moving the current one will fix this and allow the smelting engrams to appear.

    Wyvern and Rock Drake Eggs

Since Extinction, Wyvern and Rock Drake eggs on Ragnarok and Aberration are having issues with appearing for players. The eggs are present in the nest, however they are currently invisible. A workaround to make the eggs to appear is to use a whip to hit the eggs or another means to damage them. Doing so will cause the eggs to appear, sometimes making two eggs appear at once, and that will allow players to collect them as normal.

    Stuck Bows and Slingshots

Some users have reported issues with being unable to load a new arrow or rock when using bows and slingshots. To correct this problem, you need to un-equip the bow or slingshot and then re-equip it.

    Additions, Requests, and Misc

    Scorched Earth and Aberration Engrams

To enable engrams from other DLC maps for Extinction, you will need to modify your Game.ini file directly from the control panel. To do this, follow the instructions below:
Stop the server from the control panel. Connect to the server through an FTP program such as WinSCP or FileZilla. Navigate to the folder where the Game.ini file for your server resides. /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini. Open the file with a text editor and scroll to the bottom of the file. Past the contents of the following code listed here: DLC Engrams for Extinction Once you have finished, save the file and close the text editor. Return to your control panel and restart your game server.  Please note, that this is a manual change to the config file, so if you use the Modify Server Config tool to make any further changes, the engram code will be overwritten and you will need to add it once again.

Indeed it does. It sucks when companies do this as it makes things more difficult for the players. Like Nick said, Hopefully they change their minds and allow for 3rd party host to offer them. We can all hope.

We are indeed working on a way to edit the cluster on its own. In the mean time you can probably get away with changing the name of the cluster by using the custom launch box for both the main and cluster to set the naming up different.

StealthyMartian got a reaction from fuctupnick in how do i install plugins on my rust server ????
For rust plugins you will first want to make sure Oxide is installed on the server. You can do this by selecting it in the mod drop down within the panel itself. Once it is installed to your server, simply log into your FTP client and head into the Oxide/Plugins folder. Upload the plugins you wish to use and restart the server once finished. That will get the mods booted up.

To edit/upload/save/delete files via FTP, use the following method:

Stop your server from the panel. Log in to FTP using WinSCP (a free FTP software) using the connection details found in the "FTP Details" section of the game server control panel. Download link for WinSCP here: http://winscp.net/eng/download.php Navigate to the directory you wish to upload or edit a file. After editing/uploading/deleting your files in the proper directories, start your server from the panel. If you run into any issues with this method please let us know and we can have this done for you.

Sadly switching maps would also wipe the previous data that you had. There really isn't a way to keep the data with PS4 with how it is locked down. It would have to be two servers clustered together in order to keep the data for both.

Unfortunately, at this time there are no server settings to modify resource stack sizes or resource weights, as this can only be done with the use of mods for the PC version. If you are referring to the forum post listed here, https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/98514-configure-item-stack-sizes-and-weight-via-configuration/, then this was listed on the Game Suggestions sub forum of ARK's official site.

Hey, Mailpip. I ran into this issue, too, so I'm posting my solution in case it helps anyone else.

The port listed on your control panel is likely not the port you need for connecting to your server. It didn't work for me, so maybe this is the case with your problem, too!

Click the little "i" next to your server address:

This brings up your server's full IP and port information. The port you want is the Game Port:

    I hope this helps!

StealthyMartian got a reaction from Torgo in Max level issue (PC)
Since Aberration, the last 30 levels of the available player levels are reserved for Ascension.
    https://ark.gamepedia.com/Ascension

Unfortunately, this affects users with a modified leveling system, be it with custom levels and/or engram setups. If a server has a maximum level cap of 115, a player will only be able to get to level 85 before undergoing Ascension. This can be corrected by increasing the maximum level cap as the last 30 levels will always be reserved. (Ex: Raising the level cap to level 130 will allow a player to undergo level 100 before Ascension)
There are two ways to add maximum levels to correct this issue. One using the Modify Server Config tool and another involving directly modifying the Game.ini file, for those that are comfortable with it. For both of these examples, we will be adding 15 levels to get the maximum level cap to be 130.

    Modify Server Config

Once opening up the MSC, click on Player Levels, shown in the image below, and then you will see the Player Levels Configuration option. Mark the button for Make Changes and a list will populate with the standard 1-115 level and engram data.

To add a new level, click on the button indicated below. In this example, we will add 15 levels to mimic the leveling scheme available on Official servers. You will need to click this button 15 times, once for each level.

Once done, scroll down the list and you will see something similar to this after Level 115. We will need to add data in place of "XP Required" and "Engrams Received", as these are only empty placeholders.

Here is an example of data that I have added for levels 116, 117, and 118. We will need to continue this process all the way to level 130. Please note that the value in place of "XP Required" is the total number of experience points we need to have, not how much we need to gain between levels. For more information on the default experience required for ARK levels, please see this page: https://ark.gamepedia.com/Levels

Once you are done, scroll down to the bottom and click on the "Save Configuration and Restart Game Server" button. Wait for the server to finish loading and then you should be good to go.

    Game.ini

For Advanced users who want to directly edit their Game.ini file, you will need to connect to the server via FTP. If you need help with FTP access, please let us know and we'll help you out.

First off, stop the server. This is very important as otherwise your changes will not be saved.

There are two files provided in this response, one for the full leveling experience data for players for level 130 (ARK_Levels130.txt), and one specifically for levels 116 to level 130 (ARK_Levels116-130.txt). To begin, locate your Game.ini file located at /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini. Find the first section that starts with "LevelExperienceRampOverrides="

This is the player data for leveling. The second section of "LevelExperienceRampOverrides=" is for dinos and we will ignore this. The data in here can be confusing; ExpereincePointsForLevel[0] actually references the first level you gain, which in this case, is level 2. So ExperiencePointsForLevel[3]=70, for example, means that you need a total of 70 experience points to be level 5. With that aside, we need to find level 115, show below.

Now, open up the file labeled ARK_Levels116-130.txt. Copy the entire contents of that folder and then place your cursor shown in the image above, between the "8" and the ")". Now paste the contents of the file above. If you did it correctly, you will see something like this.

Now this is the full default data for players up to level 130. Now, we need to add engrams. Scroll down until you find OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=70. (70 = default)  Now, each individual listing of OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints refers to one level. To add the data for level 116 to 130 for engrams, you will need to add 15 more instances of OverridePlayerEngramPoints=X (X can be any number)

Once done, save the file, close down the FTP connection, and then restart your game server. If the changes were successful, you will be able to view your work by clicking on the Game.ini button in the control panel and scrolling down to find the leveling data.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

For the drops you can use a program called beacon to edit the drops and configure them in your ini file. For flying dinos some are capped at a certain speed and are not able to be changed anymore. As the developers hard coded the speeds into the game for them. Others you should be able to level up their speed when they level up. If that option is not in there then it is one that is fixed.
