  1. The problem is with how G-Portal have the settings in the GUI. There is a setting called "DinoCountMultiplier" in the basic settings tab. Make sure that is set to something like 1.0 or 1.5 and you will get spawns.
  2. It would be nice to have the option to stop, start or restart the Redis Database from the control panel.

Glad you are running well now!

I have no idea how to do that. I assume that the "day" is tied to the time the server has been online and the current save files. If you want to go back to day 1, you would have to wipe the saves and start over. At least as far as I know, was the same way on Ark.
  5. Just wanted to say that if anyone is annoyed with the recent fog changes you can disable it by setting "General Shadows" in your settings to low. Once we did that all the new annoying island fog went away.

That will absolutely change the IP/Port, but it may help you out. Just a suggestion that helped me out when I had issues with a server that wouldn't start or wipe. I typically do just that and fly through each grid to make sure it all works well.

We had numerous issues with a single server as well. For that server I had to migrate it to another datacenter. I moved the server to Dallas (from New York) and then was able to set it up after that. We ended up just leaving the server in Dallas because it worked. That may help you too.

The database running on the server or the Redis Desktop Manager? As far as the Redis database running on the server, you don't upgrade or anything. Just leave it as is. The connection gives you a way to see into the database items if needed. The example I used it for was the multiple character bug. As far as the Redis Desktop Manager, you need a subscription to a site to get the newest version (from what I could find) so I just use the free one I link in my document. If you find another way to get the most recent version, let me know and I will update the document.

As far as I understand, you CAN set any grid to be a home server, but you need to make sure there is a place to spawn if you do. If you are using Tallon's 3x3 (we are as well) then use A1 and A3 as home servers which should be the grids you posted above. I think if you make a server a home server and there isn't a place to spawn it just tosses you out in the ocean, but I haven't dealt with that yet so I am just going by what I have read.

The way I cleaned my server(s) was to stop all servers in the grid and then check the following to wipe them one at a time. - Reset Template - Clean SteamCMD - Clean Mods - Clean Save Then hit "Save and Restart" at the bottom and when the server comes up it should be set back to the SS default. From here you can load your JSON and etc. Now I also had some issue with transitioning between grids on our 3x3 and had to get into the Redis database to remove duplicate character entries. Go to the link below for that thread and read through the document I posted. That resolved my problems and we have been running 100% since. https://www.survivalservers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/6894-how-to-connect-to-the-redis-database-for-you-servers/
  11. That is what I figured. I am cool with the fog, my players aren't. haha Thanks Tallon.
  12. So Grapeshot removed the "r.fog 0" command and my players want to remove the fog all together. I would rather do this with a setting in the JSON (or INI) if possible and not add another mod. Based off what I have seen in the JSON it looks like this is possible. Below are the line from my JSON, based on what I can tell, the fog should already be disabled. Anyone have any more info on this or how to achieve this. I just confirmed with people in the game that the fog is currently NOT disabled in the game and these are my settings. Maybe I am looking at the wrong place. The bold is the fog setting and corresponding value. "ServerCustomDatas1": "NPCShipDifficultyMult,NPCShipDifficultyLerp,NPCShipNumMult,RainIntervalMultiplier,DisableFog,DisableHeatCold,FloatsamEnabled,FloatsamQualityMultiplier,TreasureBottlesEnabled", "ServerCustomDatas2": "0.5,0.5,0.75,1,1,1,1,15.0,1",
  13. I recently ran into an issue where I lost a character when travelling into a new grid on my 3x3. I ended up with 2 different characters on my database that the game which swap me between each time I would travel between zones. After some reading and talking with Tallon, I figured the best way to deal with this was to wipe the database and start over. Then I started to think about why not connect to the database and try to edit it instead. I was able to successfully connect to my grid's database and edit it to resolve my issue. The below link is how I did that. DO NOT manipulate the database unless you know what you are doing, and I advise that you take copies before you do so. Also, you need to make sure that your server(s) are offline before doing this so nothing is writing to the database while you are working on it. I wanted to post this here because I couldn't find any reliable info on the redis database anywhere on the web really. Hope this helps someone out. If I find any additional database related info out, I will add it here. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UfAap2DudK_cNbEiHRejfRc7laOVu2t6WOF-Vi6w784/edit?usp=sharing
