  1. Your server files are backed up automatically periodically to the FTP. Read the pinned post above for help using the FTP. As for reloading them if needed, there's a "Load Backup" dropdown list in your control panel you can use to do that. As for loading them in for SP, you "should" be able to, however the methods for which I'm unaware of. I'm sure someone else in here can chime in on this one though. =)
  2. We are currently wanting to use the mods: Mesolithic Plus (Similar to Primitive Plus, but mostly just mammals / things that existed during man's early time in evolution) Zoology (Started with Food Chains, but it was just updated to the full Zoology combo mod) Castles, Keeps and Forts (Building Mod) Scorched Earth Anywhere Upgrade Station Advanced Troughs Now, the last one in the list, shouldn't have any stacking issues anywhere, so long as it's last in the list. But, all of the others, in order to get their desired effects in, should probably be set up pretty specifically with regards to load order. For anyone that knows how these particular mods work, what would be the best load order to get the most out of these mods? To clarify on the SE Anywhere mod. We're ok with the dinos from SE being on the map alongside the Mesolithic plus dino restrictions, as it adds a fantasy element to the game to go with CKF, but I do need to ensure that Meso and Zoology stack properly, and SE anywhere doesn't break from it. So, to finalize the request, I'm looking for; Best Mod load order, ensuring that Zoology and Mesolithic works as each is intended, and that SE anywhere functions fully, minus any engrams that diminish the first two's intended function. Same for the upgrade station not adding anything too potent from its augments. Ok, I think that covers it all lol. Thanks a ton to anyone taking this much time to read this!
  3. Something I've found regarding creature regeneration, is that when you are mounted on the creature, its passive regeneration kicks in, but if you are not mounted on the creature, its regeneration is crazy slow. So that makes me feel like it's a game issue rather than a server issue, and additionally that the issue stems from a simply bad code that will likely be fixed in one of the many upcoming patches we'll see. It's not game breaking perse, but it does get annoying, and can have enough of an impact on play to be considered a moderate bug in my opinion. I'll be looking for this one to be fixed fairly soon. In the mean time, you don't even have to force-feed to speed up their health regeneration, as long as you have a saddle on them. I hope this helps.
  4. The ARKON Tool listed above works well for D&L, and should be considered interchangeable between ARK and D&L until a D&L specific one can be created, though this may never even be necessary. As far as I know, because the tool already exists, there are no "current" plans to implement an RCON tool specifically through the Survival Servers Control Panel. However, Ryan is known for his surprise implementations, and the Custom SS Server Config is well known for being top notch. So I myself will be waiting patiently to see what kinds of awesome new stuff we get in the coming updates to that Config tool. The team here has been very awesome at hooking us up with loads of features at a time. As for your RCON connectivity issues, open a support ticket, and someone will be happy to help you get it sorted out, and are very good at catching the little mistakes that we often overlook. Two heads being better than one and all that. =)
  5. Players can be added to your whitelist or blacklists using their steam ID from in game or remotely with ARKON using the "ShowMyAdminManager" function in game, then selecting the proper menu item, or with the "admincheat AllowPlayerToJoinNoCheck <steam ID>" (no brackets) for whitelist, or "admincheat BanPlayer <steam ID>" (no brackets) for the blacklist / ban function via ARKON or console. Also using ARKON, you can send a broadcast or chat message to tell players before a shutdown of the server, even without the game installed. The ARKON tool is very versatile, and can alleviate many of the frustrations that admins have when needing to communicate or administrate the game without the ability to log into the game itself.
  6. With SW's announcement that they want to incorporate S+ as a standard feature of the core game rather than as an "Official mod", that and other such functionality may trickle down to D&L as well.
  7. With the new patch, there have been a number of issues. Perhaps the worst of these being the debilitating restriction from the left / right click functionality issues. There are a few workarounds it there already though. The first, which unfortunately can't help everyone, is that controller support does still work. The second is to reset your Keybindings, which "unbreaks" the left / right click functions, but still doesn't properly remap, so it'd only a partial solution. If you find any other useful information about this, or any other issues from the big patch, please let us know! I'm stepping a bit outside my normal D&L forum for this one, but i know this and other bugs are quite infuriating to fold that have been waiting for ages to get back into this game again, so i hope what i did find helps a little.
  8. You are a gentleman and a scholar good sir. Thank you from everyone that plays Dark & Light, you have made all of our days brighter with the light of your kindness! - snicker - For reals though, the shard game is real! Thanks man!
  9. There is a tutorial on the FTP useage in one of the stickied posts above. Additionally, there is also the correct file path once you're in that FTP in a reply to it. Something else to note, Only access the FTP while your server is Stopped, to preserve its stability. Once complete, Start your server back up with either Derrin's suggestions, or your own values, and you should be good to go, It should also be noted that our Custom Config tool is being worked on all the time, and new "ease of access" settings will be added to it as often as we are able. So keep an eye out for new features there as well!
  10. I for one am really looking forward to such a mod, as well as many others. If your modder friend can do something to give us a level 2 cobweb and draining spell, I can't wait for those as well! lol. Those seem to really be the only spells I think are missing thus far, at least without getting into new content ideas, of which I could go on for days about.
  11. This topic was already solved, and you are correct Derrin. As Pat mentioned, we have to manually update the version number value on our end, so as long as you can still connect, you'll be fine. Locking the solved thread.
  12. The font size for ants issue with the Broadcasts / MotDs appears to be a game issue, not a server issue. As such, I'm sure it's something on the developers extensive list to fix. Please direct this and other such suggestions to the Feature Requests thread. We love seeing lots of activity on there. Locking this one.
  13. Actually, in order to get max lvl wild dinos to 150 on our ARK servers, i did exactly the same thing, and it works there as well. Sometimes keeping it simple works well.
  14. I'm not sure on that one. I suppose there was a bit of confusion on my part there. I have our server difficulty set to 1.25, if there is a separate "Difficulty Override" other than the normal difficulty setting, I wasn't aware. Each 0.25 you change the difficulty seems increase the max level of creatures by 30 levels, as 120 is the base for 1.0. From there, you will have to brain out the math on it, but I suppose if you want level 300 creatures for instance, you would use difficulty 2.5 based on that 0.25 / 30 level ratio. I believe the ratio additionally comes out to 6 levels increased per 0.1 change, or 3 levels per 0.05 change in difficulty, in case that helps any for fine tuning.
  15. I can confirm that on our server, a difficulty override of 1.25 causes creatures up to lvl 150 to spawn, rather than the 120 standard for difficulty 1.0. This was done with the standard ARK difficulty override setting.
  16. I believe your initial assumption is correct, from past threads I've seen. It does indeed seem that the level offset is +1, ie: lvl 1 is listed as 0. But let us know what you do find out, and of course, use the search features for ARK threads regarding such and you may glean some info that way as well. I'm intrigued at your research, keep it up. =) Just to clarify though, I am not tech support lol.
  17. Added the path to the FTP guide post above, as the D&L specific path was missing from the guide. Locking this one.
  18. In the interest of completion, the file pathway specific to Dark & Light is... DNL/Saved/Config/WindowsServer
  19. Aye, the current method (Until all appropriate values can be accurately determined and added to the tool) for modifying all configs is via FTP. There is information regarding your FTP's connection listed in your SS Control Panel. Using the FTP guide, you can get set up to navigate to that FTP and make your modifications. Just follow the guide and you should be good. It should be made very clear though, that changes to your servers .ini files MUST be done and saved while the server is Offline! There are several threads with "suggested" settings to be changed. However, again as the game is still Very much new, people are working very hard together to determine what is a valid settings change and what is not. So please understand that you make changes at your own risk. Many of these settings Will be in your control panel in the near future though! The settings I myself have tested successfully are XP, Taming and Harvest. So take that for what its worth. The FTP guide is Very helpful though. Locking this thread as all information is already in other threads.
  20. Oh please just tell me that this one is Magic Shards... HarvestResourceItemAmountClassMultipliers=(ClassName="DAL_PrimalItemConsumable_MagicFruit_C",Multiplier=1) The struggle is real!
  21. And just as a note, they are working on getting those settings put into the "Modify Server Config" tool, and they should have it available in your Control Panel before too long. However, getting used to using the ftp tool will help Immensely, as many lesser used settings will only be accessible via the FTP. Additionally, once mods are introduced, the only way to modify settings within many mods (S+ as one example from ARK) is to add additional lines to the .ini files. I for one am really looking forward to the next Server Config tool update! =D
  22. For your other requests, many of those features can be done in the ARKon tool found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/530646715639420791/ which does allow you to view online players, and even interact with them in chat or via a number of the admincheat commands such as renaming players or tribes, granting xp, or other such "Non-Target-Based" admincheat commands. This tool will also allow you to perform a world save and broadcast before you then use the aforementioned methods to update and restart the server, so it is very useful for the event where your own client has already updated, preventing you from getting in game due to the server not yet being updated.
  23. Click Server Update, Select, Yes, Run Update, then click the Big Green button at the bottom. As for downloading and reuploading edited .ini files, SS prefers to take even that hassle out by adding all of the most requested features (As Able) to their Modify Server Config tool. And have already begun adding to that with their brand spankin new "Custom Restart" menu, that has just gone live! You can now set daily restarts, or even restarts that are done weekly at a specific time on a per day basis, and is the most complete custom restart setup that I personally have seen among hosts. Custom restarts were a Very heavily requested feature for both ARK and for D&L (I moderate the D&L Forum, but I do read the ARK forum a bit as well for feature request ideas, as I also like to suggest features as a player, and have 2 servers for Each game!), so I am Super excited for this feature! Here's a sneak peek! Let us know what you think of this Awesome new restart feature, I know that I for one am Super stoked about it as I've also been pushing pretty hard for it! =)
  24. As the patch should have addressed the NPC spawning issues, I wonder if a settings change could be breaking things for you. Could you list any specific settings changes you've made to your .ini files? Don't need a complete list, just the ones you have modified. Winter is coming... PS: to clarify, I am not a tech for SS, but can be pretty crafty at times. All issues should still be sent via ticket system to the Support team.
  25. Lol. I do actually know that you can put in your own values. Like people setting things to 20x and 30x rather than the like 3x it goes to on some of the sliders. xD I personally think those kind of crazy high values just take away from the longevity of the game though, and can burn people out, but I'm a vanilla purist. I am still very curious if the resource respawn value changes will affect meteorite respawn rates, or if they seem to have their own as yet undiscovered tables.
