Hi

 

Can you have a pinned Procedural Maps topic and keep it updated with progress

I see new fields for it in CPanel but no clear documentation on how to use it and gen map via cpanel

We need to work on bringing out the features first and then later we can do a video on it. It's intended for advanced users. For new users, you can simply set a Map Seed under Procedural ARK config and select PGARK as your map in the select on the control panel.

There's really not any official guide or anything, you just tweak those values and then see the result after starting your server and joining.

I have GAME SERVER ID #26228 set to PGARK and have been changing Map Seed and some parameters and restarting but map is same?? 
Any suggestions?

You entered a map seed of 9119 which is out of bounds (thus defaulting to the 999 map I think)

 

I believe seeds range from 1-999 but I am checking to see for sure.

Changed seed to 21 still looks same or are seed differences really subtle?

I added a template name, if you change it from PGARK to PGARK2 it will regenerate with the new settings.

Yeah, that worked

Took much longer on server reboot "Loading" and first time Client game loading (not surprised at that)

 

1) Do I have to change the Template name every time I change the seed or modify the parameters (which I muxked up as water level covers vegitiation. LOL)

OK, looks like I need to change template name every time.

 

Suggestion a forum to put PG map parameters and seeds of cool maps. Mine are "Blah" LOL

Yes and it will result in entirely new savedark data (so entire start over character, world data wise)

Is the server accumulating a lot of old template files that need to be erased?

If I use an old template name is that a like a saved favorite that can still be tweaked or is it modifiable and needs deletion?

Nope, you can remove old templates in FTP if you want.
