  1. It is probably injecting the command into the server and not writing it to the .ini like it needs to be. I have yet to use the in game admin so I am not 100% on this. The setting is not in my current .ini file. Like the bodies vanish when you log out. That is no longer in my .ini and I know for a fact it was until I rebooted my server yesterday afternoon.
  2. Title pretty much says it all. Example: There was a check box to remove logged out player from the world.... It is no longer there and now after a restart yesterday my players stay in world when logged out. Also best I remember there was one for loot bodies on death and one to keep equipment when you die. But I did not use them when I set up my server at launch.
  3. You can also try in game. ESC > Settings > server admin tab (the last one cant remember the name of it) give it your admin pass and there are a lot of settings there. I really thought I remember a check box for this in the edit config tool on the control panel.
  4. There is an auto save built into the server software. I have yet to find a setting for it so that it can be changed. The best thing I can suggest is use the stop button for the server. That seems to create a save right then. It seems that restart doesn't or at least it hasn't when I have used it.
  5. The lag is usually not bandwidth these days. as you have noticed more people joining causes more lag. This is because The way the server software works. In its most basic form The server holds all the data for the world and feeds it out as needed. An example would be, when you build a foundation the sever stores it. The server knows what materials it is made of and where it is located in the world. This data is then sent to your client program and it puts it on your screen. Now when you build a base it has to do this for every item in the base. All the while it is calculating your location and making sure you can see everything within and area around you wile ensuring that you do not run through a wall or fall through a floor. This is a lot of calculation and data moving around in the software. Now it also has to do this for ever single person that logs in. the software can only move data so fast. when the server start it get backed up and this are not happening instantly you notice lag, and rubberbanding. Battle Eye is also a cause for a lot of lag at the moment too because it has to intercept all data moving both way and decide if it has been tampered with by "hacks" This is a simplified version but maybe you get the idea. Not to take away form SS making a few extra dollars but upping server slots will not help the lag issue. As a matter of a fact the Official server s have decreased their server slots until they can "optimize" the code and make the server software more more data in less time. I hope this help you understand a little bit. I think SS would agree that they would rather see you happy with a 20 slot sever rather than pissed off with a 40 slot. A happy customer will continue to use their service and a mad one will just give up an leave.
  6. FunCom doesn't have that option yet it seems.
  7. Yeah I saw the line in there last night when I was digging around for other options. Just appears to have been removed.
  8. Yes when you do an update the server turns off, it downloads the update, It applies the new code then it restarts the server. During this time you will have a pop up on screen telling you not to click off of it and that it can take 20 min. If you do click off you get a banner saying that the task "update" is running and will continue to get it if you refresh the page until the server completes the update. Once this is done you should be seeing a "loading" status next to your server I have to manually refresh until it shows ready. Now I usually have a problem with steams server viewer so I manually add my IP:port as a favorite in the favorites tab. It should show you your server name and other info once it adds it. When it is there then you can find the server in game using the top left "filter" set to favorites. The in game server browser needs work and is a little wonky and slow. If you do not see your server in favorites try to refresh it. Wait till the timer on the button has counted down and i usually give it a few more seconds. If you still do not see your server make sure that the top right filters are set yo ALL and the if it still isnt there select the show invalid option. If it does show as invalid your server needs another update. If not I hope SS support can help you.
  9. Weird... I was just now able to get into my FTP and MAXPlayers=XX is no longer there.
  10. I think it is in the Engin.ini Cant check right now as my FTP is busted on my server. You can double check on your control panel page. You can FTP in and edit the file at this location ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Engine.ini To do this you may need an FTP program to download the file, edit it in notepad and re-upload it. I use Filezilla and only need to open the file and edit it directly on the server.
  11. Yeah i get those 10 - 14ms speeds as well but by the time the game takes over and processes its info the in game will show 60+ But hey I remember trying to play UO on a 14.4 modem so I try not to fuss.
  12. I would love and option to do a manual back up. Yesterday I had an issue with Conan where a character was corrupted/changed after a patch and reboot. I then had to restore from a back up as the server saves did not revert the character its self only. I will get more specific as it could have been a SS issue due to some settings getting changed during reboots. My char was set as fully nude at creation.I played naked for about 6 hours. I had to patch the server and when I logged back in I had clothes on. The char was flagged for fully clothed after a few reboots and reloads of previous save files and verifying that the ServerSettings.ini had MaxNudity=2 all i can assume was that the char file that carries non adjustable attributes done in char creation was now flagged as fully clothed. A backup restore fixed the issue but I did lose a few hours and at this point it really is a non issue as I planned on wiping the sever and characters later during the day. All that being said .... The ability to do a full backup before I apply a patch would be amazing and is what I would do if I had the VM on my own hardware. Even if it was automatic before the update ran this would be good. I understand that storage requirements might be an issue with this but keeping the last X number of saves or allowing X number of toggles for do not overwrite.
  13. lol everything... Lag, Rubber banding, Kicks after joining server (after 19:00 patch last night), instant timeout kicks, blackscreens on joining, and a few others that I have seen. http://steamcommunity.com/app/440900/discussions/0/133255957994803150/ This is why SS has set it to default as off in the config currently.
  14. Currently I can not reach my Conan server by FTP. Server #32849 I have tried Firefox, Chrome, IE, Edge, Safari and Opera along with Filezilla and SmartFTP. I have tried with the server running and stopped. I have tried from machines in 5 different physical locations on 5 different ISPs. Just to verify that it isnt a firewall, web filter or other such things. Since I have we access to the VM I am limited in my options to fix the issue myself. I can reach my Ark FTP with no issues. This is not a big issue at the moment as I am at work. I was just wanting to get a copy of serversettings.ini and do some research.
  15. I had this issue yesterday as well. I had to FTP in and manually add the PvE, Admin Pass and a few other options into ServerSettings.ini Once I did this it worked fine. It appeared that the first few lines (5 best i remember) in the config manager would not write to the .ini
  16. Just a word of warning BattleEye is causing a lot of problems right now. The official servers have/are removing BE from their servers until they can get it figured out. I turned it off on my server and passworded it until the issues are resolved.
  17. It appears if you do a server shutdown it will save the current server state. Because the FTP seems to be down at the moment, I cant tell what the normal auto save rate is sometimes (example every 15 min) so if you have a server crash you only lose a little bit. I had an issue yesterday after a patch where the character got corrupted and had to restore a backup. I would love for the option to do a manual server backup not a server state save. This is how I would do this on my own physical servers. I would host my own servers at home but my ISP requires a business account which maxes at 100mb connection and an extra $85 a month just to unlock the unlimited data and remove port filters.
  18. I live north of Houston and get anywhere from 40-120 Pings to Dallas. Most tend to be around the 60ms range though.
