  1. Every time I stop my server and then start it again it says ARK Version??? and im not exactly sure what that means. plz help

It only says ??? until the server(s) a fully restarted. So if you stop the server then hit start, it will have version ??? until the servers are fully running which may take a few minutes. Normally after that if you refresh the page it will show you the current version.

  2. I've experienced this issue myself and I have an easy solution that prevents any need for rollback and simply requires the Admin to handle Wild Dino Wipe slightly differently.

I use RCON for when I do stuff like this, but it doesn't make any difference if you do the commands ingame. This is what I do.

    • I back-up my saved folder prior to doing dino wipe, I do daily manual back-ups anyway for my piece of mind.
    • I then do Wild Dino Wipe.
    • Immediately after I do another Save World via RCON.
    • The dino wipe will most likely cause the server to hang after a few minutes, please note that the server may appear to lose connection when it hangs, but it doesn't fully crash (not for me anyway), and if I leave it for a short period the connection will re-establish with no requirement to restart the server.
    • Then everything will be fine.

The reason you are getting a rollback is because you are manually restarting the server and therefore it will restart using the most recent save file which is likely to be a little old anywhere upto an hour.

If you leave the server for at least 10 minutes or so after doing wild dino wipe then you should be able to get on with no problems and no rollback.

  3. I think the confusion here is pretty simple, the reason the ticket doesn't exist is because the ticket is not one made on SurvivalServers because the servers he's talking about in the OP, Asia 120 Scorched Earth and EU 210 Ragnarok are both Official Servers.

The OP is confused as to what this SurvivalServers forum is.

He needs to use https://survivetheark.comwhere he originally created the support ticket.

  4. Ok, sorry this is where i get a little lost, and trying to simplify it in my head.

So currently I have the following:

SavedArkXXXXX (This has the Center on and is the parent server)

SavedArkXXXXXTransfer (This has the Island on it).

So if I backed up the content of those folders (lets say via FTP), then shut down the server, then in the control panel I changed maps, so the parent would have Island and the other would have Center, would it be a case of me then moving the backed up files from SavedArkXXXXXTransfer into the the SavedArkXXXXX folder and vice versa with the other one?

It sounds too simple to me so I fear i'm missing something?

  5. Apologies that my technical understanding of cluster servers is not great.

I started off last December with a single server with the Center map. Later on I decided to add a cluster and now have the Island on the Cluster.

So my understanding is that the parent server hosts the Center and the cluster hosts the Island. If my understanding is correct, is it possible to convert the Island to become the parent server and the Center to become the cluster? If it is possible would it mean a loss of all data?

  6. The are saying that all server official or not, anything about lvl 100 will be forced back to 100. I guess we shall see when its really released. :)

They never said this at all. They said Unofficial servers will not get affected.

As for the original question, whatever your max survivor level is you need to take into account the additional 15 levels post-ascension.

For example, on my server I have max Survivor level of 150. This means that Survivors can level to a cap of 135 pre-ascension. Then post-ascension can level to 150.

So if you want players to be able to level to a certain number pre-ascension, then you need to increase the max level by 15.

  7. Hey everyone, so I need a little guidance on something.

I currently have the Difficulty 6+ Mod on my server which I use to achieve the following 3 things:

    1) Cap Survivor lvl at 120

    2) Cap Tamed Dino lvl at 150 (i.e. you can lvl dinos 150 times after tamed)

    3) Wild Dinos spawn upto lvl 180

Since Patch v257 with the change in survivor levels and the ascension it appears to have broken all the Difficulty + Mods as when my survivors reset to lvl 1 they were able to level back up well beyond lvl 120, some are upto lvl 170. This I don't really want, and the Mod author I don't think will fix all his Mods.

So i've decided to see if I can manually make the changes to get the way it was before and remove the Mod.

I think I know what I need to do, but I need to make sure before I do it.

    1) Cap survivor lvl at 120

The image below is of my control panel. Currently this list goes upto lvl 94, not sure why it's not upto 100 or the previous 105. Anyway, am I correct in thinking that if I add the levels 95 - 120 in there and assign them a required XP and set engram points that my Survivors will then be able to level up to 120 and no further?

If this is correct then does anyone know if setting it at 120 will mean 105 is the cap pre-ascension and 120 is cap post-ascension?

    2) Cap tamed dino lvl at 150

This is very similar to the first one. There is a dino level option, therefore if I add all the levels and XP required upto level 150 does this mean I can level up my tames 150 times then it will cap?

Assuming those 2 things are correct, then it leaves me with only one setting left, and that is the wild dino spawns.

    3) Wild dinos spawn upto level 180

    post-5138-0-15684800-1494318136_thumb.png

The above image is what my difficulty offset is set to.

What do I need to do with this, or the INI files in order to get wild dinos spawning at lvl 180?

I saw this in another thread:

First, make sure you have [server Settings] in your GameUserSettings.ini file. Then underneath that either create or change DifficultyOffset=1.000000 to 5.000000 or whatever you wish. Then underneath that either create or change OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0 or whatever you wish.

Would I need to make sure that DifficultyOffset is set to 6.0 and add the OverrideOfficialDifficulty=6.0?

This is the bit i'm really not sure about.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  8. This has got me very confused and I need some guidance.

I want to enable structure decay on my PvE server so that structures can be manually destroyed at the end of the timer. I want these settings:

    Thatch - 8 Days

    Wood - 16 Days

    Stone - 24 Days

    Metal - 32 Days

So, in the Settings I see this:

    post-5138-0-26579900-1483102315_thumb.png

So there the Disable Structure Decay (although it doesn't specify PvE) is unchecked. This means it should be Enabled. I also changed the Destruction Period to 2 to get my intended timer settings.

In the GameUserSettings.ini It shows this:

    DisableStructureDecayPVE=true
    PvEStructureDecayPeriodMultiplier=2.000000

Now what I note there is that a) It states PvE there,  B) it says true (which would mean Disabled), c) It has changed the Destruction Period to 2.0 which is correct.

So why does DisableStructureDecayPVE show as True?

I changed it directly in the INI file, restarted the server and logged on and the destruction timers were working! After another restart the INI has reverted back to True.

Please explain why this is not working? Why does having the Disable Structure Decay unticked not show as False in the INI?
