Servers with the same IP/Host Question

Recommended Posts

Is this ok, or should I be worried that two of my servers for ARK has the same IP/Host address?  Curious as to if this is anything I should be worried about, as one of those two servers...doesn't want to show itself in anyone's lists for server searches.

The same ip should be fine. If it has the same ip and port then let us know in a ticket. Each server has its own port to separate them.

Thanks, I'll check the ports.  Cause, I am thinking they are indeed the same.  Cause, while one of my servers that shared the same IP is off, the other one that no one was able to see, was suddenly able to be seen by the players that play on my servers.

Check done...they indeed do have the same port.  Sending in the ticket now.

Just to clarify, if a server shares the same IP/Host number, they should have different ports, is it ok for a server that doesn't share the same IP/Host to have the same port, or should I also put a ticket in for that?  For, while two of my three servers do indeed share the same IP/Host, all three share the same port.  So far, there hadn't been any issues with seeing or connecting to the server with the different IP/Host vs the only server they are able to see that shares both IP/Host and Port with another of my servers.

Wait...that was a different port...that port was for the FTP.  So, guessing you are talking about RCON port?  If so, those are fine than.  Ok, still wondering why people couldn't see the two servers when both are up.  Yet, take one down, and the other is suddenly seen by the players.

You can still send in a ticket as normally they should be on different ports. I don't think another host can have the same ip as us but if it does that would be pretty rare. Still send in a ticket and we will look into this for you. :)

The port for ark would be the ip and the port number you use to search for the game. so it would be like this example: 103.320.38.4:44322 <-- just made that up but the number after the : would be the port.
