DeezGames 28 Report post Posted August 2, 2017 As with any new title, there is a Ton of testing still to be done. Your help could take a bit of that testing load off of our awesome server hosts! If you have found any of the ARK settings that you can Confirm work properly, please list them in this thread. I would like to get multiple confirmations for any given server setting that has been tested. Please note that each individual setting must be tested independently to be considered confirmed as working, rather than tested in bulk. There isn't very much information out there about confirmed settings just yet, as the wiki is even still drying its wings, so any confirmed testing done here would be a serious boon to the D&L community as a whole. Lets get all scientific method on this game folks! =) Here's an FTP guide to get started: https://www.survivalservers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1479-lrn2ftp-beginners-guide-to-ftp/

DeezGames 28 Report post Posted August 3, 2017 I am particularly interested in your observations with ResourcesRespawnPeriodMultiplier=0.500000 Specifically whether or not it affects the meteorite spawn rates.

Sara101 2 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 Awewsome, thanks for that Sara! Why the seemingly random values btw lol? (Just curious) Please feel free to elaborate on specific settings. the ones that look like .10233 or something was because i took the values from my single player ini and pasted to my game server? their from the slider, i was too lazy to type in my values so i slid it to about where i wanted lmao and yea your going to say the night time didnt go that high, well lets just say i had it on the point 2.-- and said screw it, add double digit <.< I see that even though it goes to 3, you can still bring it up past that, some people dont know, some do, i put that so people that dont know, do know? ;-P
DeezGames 28 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 Lol. I do actually know that you can put in your own values. Like people setting things to 20x and 30x rather than the like 3x it goes to on some of the sliders. xD I personally think those kind of crazy high values just take away from the longevity of the game though, and can burn people out, but I'm a vanilla purist. I am still very curious if the resource respawn value changes will affect meteorite respawn rates, or if they seem to have their own as yet undiscovered tables. Sara101 2 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 I only have taming high because i dont want to sit there and have to babysit a downed creature for 2 hours when i need to do other things, thats all the high level is for that, everything else is kinda down, except the small jump in dino stats, levels it out since the wraith seems to do 2000 damage by itself, those stats only give panthers about 400 damage to defend themselves with, all i did was level the playing field, especially when i get on to find someone had murdered all my tribes things and destroyed a building and us by themselves, i had to lower the player damage greatly and the structure resistence had to get better, especially when its a pve Server but people can still cause havoc... Vanilla is ok, but nothing wrong with doing a little stat change to better even out things <.<

Pat 11 Report post Posted August 8, 2017 @Ralloo, the location is here: /DNL/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini Check out this guide to modify your ini files: https://www.survivalservers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1479-lrn2ftp-beginners-guide-to-ftp/
DeezGames 28 Report post Posted August 8, 2017 And just as a note, they are working on getting those settings put into the "Modify Server Config" tool, and they should have it available in your Control Panel before too long. However, getting used to using the ftp tool will help Immensely, as many lesser used settings will only be accessible via the FTP. Additionally, once mods are introduced, the only way to modify settings within many mods (S+ as one example from ARK) is to add additional lines to the .ini files. I for one am really looking forward to the next Server Config tool update! =D
