Simian 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Hey guys. I recently installed the Ark Reborn mod from the Steam Workshop by Subscribing and then putting the SteamID into the spot in the Control Panel. Well, I wasn't a fan and want to remove it. I unsubscribed and removed its ID from the control panel, but its still spawning 120+ level dinos and they're pretty tough. Any idea what to do to completely remove the mod? I removed it locally from the steam directory "mod" folder, and destroyed all wild dinos, but no luck. As you can probably tell I am pretty new at this, haha. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance. Simian
Ryan Pennington 359 Report post Posted January 14, 2016 Please do not bump posts in the forums. You should run the cheat DestroyWildDinos command to wipe out wild dinos and have them respawn. http://ark.gamepedia.com/Difficulty
Simian 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2016 My apologies on the bumping. Wasn't aware. Thank you for your response! I appreciate the help. As I mentioned in the OP, I tried the command admincheat DestroyWildDinos and watched the wild dinos disappear before my eyes, so I know it worked. But they're still spawning at a much higher level. Dinos spawn from level 2 - 150 on my server. That was a setting from the Ark Reborn mod. I removed the Mod locally, but is there something I need to do server side to remove all remnants of it? All other aspects of the mod are gone, except the dino levels. My difficulty is set to level 1.0 which should give me a max wild dino level of 120, but they're still 150. I will try restarting the server and inputting my settings in the "Modify Server Config" tool once more, and then try admincheat DestroyWildDinos once more. I'll let you know how it goes. Simian 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2016 I tried what you said, Ryan. It did not work. There are still 150 Dinos running around. Any ideas on how to get them back to 120? I really feel like there is some remainder of the Ark Reborn mod still left on the server side. I just don't know how to access it. Simian 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2016 I FIGURED IT OUT!!! Haha. Oh man. What a pain. It took me like 2 days of work to get that stupid mod off my server. Turns out I was right. The Ark Reborn mod was still on my server even though I uninstalled it locally and unsubscribed on the Steam Workshop. I just didn't know where to find it. In the end, I had to figure out how to us the FTP server to access the server side of things! This tutorial helped with the FTP stuff: https://www.survivalservers.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1479-lrn2ftp-beginners-guide-to-ftp/ But yeah, for anyone who is wondering, to properly uninstall a mod, it has to be done on the server. You can't do it locally or through the Control Panel. It must be accessed through the FTP option. Then access the files on the server end of the FTP. ShooterGame/Content/Mods. Delete the Mod with the corresponding steamID. Boom. Life is good again!
Ryan Pennington 359 Report post Posted January 15, 2016 The mod assets will not be loaded in at run-time unless you have it in the Mod ID(s) input box or in the GameModIDs= custom launch parameter.
