Error logging into vanilla dayz

I am having issues logging into my own server, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. I have had others attempt as to verify as best I can that it is not my machine specifically.

 

ERROR - "you cannot play/edit this mission. it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.map_eu"

 

I searched this forum and google for solutions, here is everything I have tried. 

 

I have reset the map back to default PBO's (changed map to overwatch, then changed back to Chernarus 1.8.6.1)

I added the "map_eu", line to the mission.sqm serverside

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my Arma2, Arma2:OA, and Arma2:Dayz mods. 

I have logged into other Vanilla servers without issue

I have tried joining the server via Arma2:OA multiplayer, Dayz Launcher, and Survival Launcher (My Arma games are steam. I have tried to use the Arma2:DayZ steam app but I get unable to connect when I try to join)

 

I have made no changed via FTP at all. All files are default files from Survival Servers. I feel like this is something simple that I am missing but I just cant see it. 

 

This is driving me absolutely mad.

Have no fear, Bilco is here! Want the good news? Sure you do. You're server is fine. Now for the bad news. Any time you get an error like that it means that you have a client side issue with your mod. Verify that you have 1.8.6.1 downloaded and that your download is not corrupt. Chances are your download is corrupt.

Thanks for the response. I had a feeling that it was client side. The bit that is confusing to me is that I can log into other vanilla servers. I have tried using survival launcher to reinstall the mod, but for some reason it keeps erroring out at around 40% and moves extremely slow. Is there a reliable source to download the mod from that I can install manually? I recently deleted my entire arma2 collection and re-installed, so I think steam might not be giving me good data. I am not home at the moment, but will install a new copy of the DayZ mod and update this thread. Thanks again Bilco

You could try another launcher like DayZ Launcher or you can get the client side files on the dayz website.

Good morning. Ok, so, I deleted the @DayZ folder in my OA directory and installed the mod via the link you provided Bilco. I am back into my server now, but I am having major issues. The biggest issue for me is that NONE of the buildings are populated. I do have misc objects such as fuel tanks, light poles, etc, but it seems that any object classified as a building is not being populated. Nor are paved roads, the Major highway that runs around the coast is dirt. I get several errors when I log into my server, I will list them below. 

 

Addib 'CAMisc_fix_Str' requires addon 'CAStructuresHouse_A_Office01' (I get this when I start the Arma2:OA game from steam)

 

No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/Land_A_tent.scope'. (This pops up when I reach the Main menu)

 

Cannot open object ca\buildings\misc\stoh.p3d (while waiting on host to respond when joining server)

 

Cannot open object ca\buildings\misc\plot_zed-drevo1p3d (When I start receiving mission file)

 

cannot open object ca\structures\pond\pond_big_32_02.p3d (while waiting for the game to put me into my spawn point)

 

No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/MAP_R_HouseV2_02.simulation'. (this error is not always present. It pops up just as I get loaded to my spawn point)

 

ca\chernarus\data\scenes\intro.Chernarus\mission.sqm/Intro/Groups/Item0/Vehicles/Item0.vehicle: Vehicle class Woodlander2 no longer exists (I get this after exiting the server and returning to the main menu of the game)

 

 

None of those errors stop me from getting on the server. 

 

My other issue is, the ONLY way I can access my server, is to launch Arma2:OA and go through the multiplayer screen. I have to use the Remote option to find my server. I can see my server in the DayZ Launcher and Survival launcher, but when I try to join from a launcher, the game launches, but then I get a "Session lost" error. I have tried launching the Arma2:DayZMod from steam and joining the server, but I get the same "Session Lost" error. I have done a complete uninstall and reinstall with no change at all.

I have just tested the server and all is working fine from my end.

Logged in with survival launcher and ran about for an hour. Vanilla buildings and everything are there.

that being said, it is likely my client. I am going to uninstall all the arma2 stuff from steam when i get home, only reinstall Arma2 and OA, then try and let survival launcher install the mod

Sorry for the delay in responding, RL got suddenly crazy. So, it looks like the issue was two fold. Firstly, I wasn't always logged into steam. When I was logged into steam I couldn't get things to work right using the launchers. 

 

My Fix: 

Log into Steam

make sure additional parameters in launcher set to "-mod=@Dayz" without quotes

Launch game.

 

Hopefully this helps out others.
