Bexan 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2015 Hey guys, been messing around with my server settings for a while and stumbled upon this thread that says you can whitelist an admin, allowing you to use commands without needing to login each time, by creating a file in the directory \ShooterGame\Saved called AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt, in which you put the Steam64 ID's that you want to authorize. Now I've tried doing that, listing only my Steam64 ID to begin with for testing, but to no avail. I tried moving the .txt file to \ShooterGame\ but that didn't work, also tried \ShooterGame\Saved\Config\, that didn't work either, also tried moving to /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer and that didn't work either. Any idea how to get this to work, or what I'm doing wrong? Edit: Solved it, ended up putting a copy of AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt in \ShooterGame\Saved\, \ShooterGame\Saved\config\ and one in \ShooterGame\Saved\config\WindowsServer\ just in case, and now it works
Proxus 1 Report post Posted August 3, 2015 [Edit] I was mistaken from before, you seem to have it named correctly. Not sure why this isn't working. My only guess is perhaps you got the steam64 ID wrong? (Sorry for bad information from before, still dealing with getting our ARK back online after the hardware failure)
Bexan 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2015 I've copied the Steam64 ID from my Arkon client. Attempted inputting it manually and also tried several different peoples ID's, and double checking that it is the correct ID (it is) and still won't work. Tried everything I can think of and I'm stumped : /
Gingerale 1 Report post Posted August 4, 2015 I think they may have to be online for it to work... I know currently you cannot ban someone unless they are online
Bexan 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2015 Being online for it shouldn't be the problem since the whitelisting is assigned by editing a .txt file in the server folder, which is meant to allow people to use admin commands without authenticating with the password each time. samsso 5 Report post Posted August 16, 2015 Just did some testing. It works correctly if you put the AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt in ShooterGame/Saved. Just drop it in there with the correct steam IDs and it works fine. Ryan Pennington
