Bricktop 1 Report post Posted August 1, 2015 Hi guys, My name is Bricktop I host a server (Epoch) I've been up and running a couple months now I have several mods installed my player count continues to grow and I have donations coming in. Life in Chernarus couldn't be better. I do however have a couple issues I could use some feedback on. First of all please understand I pay to have mods added to my server because I'd rather play the game (3000+hrs in dayz) but I'm willing to learn the basics if it means my server will run better. So here are my issues please be detailed in your reply since I'm obviously a noob. 1) I'm trying to lower the price of trader items (cinder walls - buy 3 cases sell 1 case) that's crazy! I've tried "Admin Trader Tool" no luck - I also tried the trader database but can't find cinder walls and although I lowered the price of cinder blocks in the database it did not change in the server. The eco is broken! 2) Repack PBO ? This seems like a simple task to someone who has done it but I myself have not. I basically need to know how to OPEN a file EDIT and REPACK. A video link or step by step would be great. There's just a few changes I'd like to make myself like chat warnings a new loading screen etc. Just basic things but don't understand the survival server process. 3) My last issue is how to install a mod on this server without messing things up. These guys are great and they always go the extra mile but sometimes they get busy so If I can install a basic mod (hemp field) on my own then maybe I'll only have to bother them with the big ones (coins+advanced trading) That's it - That's all Thanks in advance for any information, Bricktop Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't think that cinder walls are in the phpmyadmin but I could be wrong. You would need to add them. A tutorial for that would be lengthy. I could assist you with adding a few things but if you're going to be using the coin currency, it's a waste of time since the traders are mission side. About repacking the PBO, I already created a tutorial of how to do this with the recommended tools to use for doing so. And as far as installing mods on your own, the Epoch website and Open DayZ.net is where I get all of the latest and greatest scripts. Those guys and gals put together pretty good tutorials of how to install stuff. They also are assuming that you know what you're doing. It just takes time to get to learn how to mod a server. It doesn't happen over night. I started about 2 years ago with Arma 2. I would say it took me about 4 months before I got really good at it and was able to understand coding. It's a lot of research, reading, trial, and error. I'd suggest getting a test server like I did. That way you can tinker around without screwing up your main server. I hope this helps. Bricktop 1 Report post Posted August 2, 2015 Thanks for the reply Bilco useful information here. Could I get a link to the tutorial about repacking pbo's? I've figured out how to download my mission pbo open it with notepad++ and make edits but when I upload the pbo back to the server the server wont launch. I have to re upload the unedited pbo and restart the server. This has happened 3 times today and I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
