I'm looking at my server backups and the time stamps seem pretty random and the intervals between them varies alot. Why is this and can i schedule backups? We've lost 2+ hours of progress multiple times now(and also seem to get a new IP each time.)

Hello, so I was just wondering.. is there a way to make our server save more backups? And save the world more often? We are paranoid now with mods messing it up. We've had two occurrences that the server just freezes, says its still online then we have to go into it and restart it.. and every time we log back in the structures and all modded content is gone, even dinos. Only things that remain are vanilla tames and structures. We always have to do backups in order to get the server back on its feet, and today we had to do a backup from all the way at 7am when it went down around 9pm... We have 20 people playing on our server.. and we need help with this issue. Also, why is there no update notifiers??? LIKE HELLO? Our server goes down constantly for mod updates and not once does it warn people.. we have to do manual restarts all the time for them. Our player base really wants warnings.. Paying nearly 42 a month for a 50 slot server.. we expect more. All we've had are so many issues and barely any help. It's like tech support has just given up.

Would be nice to have a "special slot" in cpanel to easily save a map and settings as we rotate thru different ARK Maps but sometimes like to restore a map from few months ago and continue where we left off. Just an idea, would luv if possible ArkofWizzy

How do I backup my server? Is there a wiki how-to or something for all the server commands?

After I apply a Rust server update (which in the case of today's update happens to require a wipe of the data), can I still restore data from a previous backup? Or, would a backup from before the server update be incompatible with the server after the update? Thanks very much for any information you may have on this!

Does anyone know how to revert to a previous version.

Hi Sorry if this has Been asked/ answered before but i must of missed it. I was hoping there is away that i can create auto back up saves? I currently Know that it creates a backup every time the server restarts, as mine is currently set to 12hrs, But i would like it to back up every Hour or so. Or if this is not possible,is there a ingame command where i can save the server to prevent any mishaps when i start cleaning up the server and delete something by mistake? (like all structures) Thank you in advance

Hi, I'm just backing up my servers Saved Files now using an FTP client as I use a Third party to host the server, Basically I've taken the whole shootergame\saved folder and copied it to my Local Disk I'm now uploading it back onto the server as another name so I can test to see if it has worked (one has a base torn down so i can notice the difference). I was wondering if this could be made a little less complicated as currently the saved folder is 3GB, so that's 3GB per day i don't really have on my internet usage just to back up the world, then another 3GB to upload it back if there's an issue, so i have a few questions. 1. Is it true I can't duplicate folders on a server using FTP?, this would save any downloading and uploading to the server keeping a backup folder. 2. In the Saved Arks Folder the .profile and .arktribe are relatively small files and I assume they are for players and Tribes, I also assume they are only changed if a tribe member logs in and changes something in the tribe or something or a player logs in ad moves or changes something, TheIsland.ark files though I assume are the island and structures etc. Does anyone know exactly what these files are, I hate assumptions. 3. I see Multiple Theisland.Ark files and again assume these are multiple backups that unlike the player profile and arktribe files are not changed each time a player logs in and therefore only need one for it to work and maybe a few backups. 4. I just finished testing to see if backing up the whole saved folder would create a backup of the game, server permissions don't allow me to rename some folders and wouldn't allow me to change the Logs folder that has the log files for backups - basically the backup didn't work, I still have half a base destroyed. I can only think this would have been due to the Log files in shooter\saved\config\ as every other file was switched over. 5. Any help would be great. At 5 minutes past the hour and 1/2 hour we get a lag spike that delays opening containers, attacking, and other actions. This seems to go on for a minute or so (presumably until our backup is complete) and then we have 29 minutes more hassle-free play. I think this only started the last couple of weeks. I don't think it was always a thing. Is this happening to anyone else? Should I open a ticket or deal with it?

My server suffered through the rollbacks last week and it seems to have reared its ugly head again. Dealing with these disgruntled players is making my head explode =/

One more question - Regarding the backup that I hope you can help me with I read (somewhere) that there is a automatic backup every 20 minutes and I been doing this to manually save the world…. Enablecheats (my pw) setcheatplayer true AdminCheat SaveWorld setcheatplayer false Is that the right commands for manually save ? I am wondering because I don’t see anything in game happening. I been looking at the FTP in folder /ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks to see a new file every 20 minutes and when every I write the above commands - But the files there don’t match - they are more like a files every 6 hours…. So, where can I see the backups ? The automatic and the once I try to make?
