  1. All right, the advice above is insufficient IF YOU ARE RUNNING ANY MODS. If you are running any mods through the Steam workshop enabled in your hosting.cfg file, you need to follow the procedure below. Every time you change in the control panel between Custom and Island, either way, your hosting.cfg file is set to defaults. If the hosting.cfg file is set to defaults, attempting to load a database file that relies on the mods will result in an unstable or unworking server: In order to enable whitelisting AND retain your data base if there are any mods loaded, you have to do this: Stop the server Back up both your miscreated.db and hosting.cfg files Set map to Custom. Add -mis_whitelist to the custom launch parameters box Restart the server. Result: server may or may not restart. If it does, whitelisting will be enabled AND data base will be wiped. Once the server has loaded and/or stabilized/stalled, stop the server. Restore your modified hosting.cfg file and miscreated.db files. Restart the server. Result: server will restart whitelisted AND the data base and mods will be restored.
  2. This is insufficient advice. Doing this results in your data base being wiped and the failure of the server to start. Clearly, a map has to be added back to the launch parameters as well.
  3. Server 28853 -- Up and running. Thank you.
  4. Server 28853 Ticket 262690 -- originally about failing data base access, but still open. Status: Down and UNKNOWN at least three days now. Don't want to bump the ticket. I figure you've got your hands full if a problem goes on this long. Been two days since we heard anything. What's going on? I figured Server 30978 above had to be a total fluke, but this is déjà vu all over again!
  5. Server 28853 Ticket 262690 -- originally about failing data base access, but still open. Status: Down and UNKNOWN at least two days now. Thanks for the update last night! Any news tonight?
  6. Hi there -- Server 28853 Ticket 262690 -- but this was about failing data base access over the last couple days. Status: UNKNOWN. Noticed it was down in control panel and invisible in browsers just as I was responding to your suggestion that you move it to another box. Since I hadn't responded yet, I assume that this is either a new issue or an evolution of the apparent data base access issue. FTP is down. MySQL client access to the db is up, but very sluggish. It takes a few seconds to show a sort result of a table with only a few dozen records.
  7. Thank you. I see the server has been moved and is up and I have the email about the credit. It's unfortunate the server code base couldn't be recovered. It was a legacy server, however. It's moot. I think I'll reconfigure it for a later build and different map. Such a long delay is atypical for you guys. I know you're busy scrambling when an issue like this hits... but a word or two would be a really good thing along the way.
  8. Server Status: Unknown Ticket: #463692 Server: #30978 Ticket still "Open". Server still down and UNKNOWN in the control panel. Five days. Nary a word since the email that said the server would be back up after "unscheduled maintenance" "Shortly". Shortly. Five days. Wow.
  9. Server Status: Unknown Ticket: #463692 Server: #30978 Ah.... four days? A word? An ETR?
