Currently, Escape From Tarkov does not support private dedicated servers. Battlestate Games operates all game servers centrally. However, the developers have discussed potential offline and co-op modes. We're monitoring announcements for any changes to private server availability.
Escape From Tarkov raids support varying player counts depending on the map, typically ranging from 8-14 PMCs (player characters) per raid, plus Scav players. Larger maps like Streets of Tarkov support more players, while smaller maps have lower limits.
Since Battlestate Games currently hosts all servers, there are no public server requirements. For players, the game requires a modern quad-core CPU, 16GB RAM minimum (32GB recommended), and a dedicated GPU. The game is known for being demanding on hardware.
Official Escape From Tarkov servers do not support mods. The game uses a centralized server architecture with strict anti-cheat measures. Community projects like SPT-AKI offer modded single-player experiences, but these are unofficial and separate from the main game.
Escape From Tarkov features PMC raids (main gameplay), Scav runs (play as AI character), offline practice mode with AI, and the new PvE co-op mode that allows playing with friends against AI. The game focuses on hardcore survival and extraction mechanics across multiple detailed maps.
