Are these servers a scam?

So, I have had this server for just a couple hours and already I am running into a bunch of problems. Lag, rubber banding, the works. But perhaps what is far more annoying is the inability to move it out of creative mode.

There is an aggressive lack of documentation and so on about. I've  read the forums, following the instructions on the one actual thread that has useful information, and got nothing as the results. I stop the server, change it from creative to survival in both files, then start the server. It does right back to creative in the files.

In the control panel lacks a meaningful interfact to interact with the server. No console, no ability to edit common file settings, and a bunch of stuff that isn't explained in the hug. A random link to a speak page for a piece of software that doesn't exist. 

So far I am feeling a lot like I've been slapped right in the face with a scam server service.

Same. Absolutely the same issue. I read the forums and all I see is complaints. Did I get catfished by a server company? 

 

I have been at trying to start this casual play server set up since 9am... it is 5pm now... all I have gotten from the support team is a copy/paste from the SE website about an issue i'm not having.
