grimbane 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2017 I've been looking into more mods for the game and I was wonder the policy on adding custom "expansions" to the servers. I would suspect if this was done we would have to disable auto update which I think is off automatically but has anybody got any experience with this and if it is even possible on a dedicated server? This is what I'm referring to. Trying to spice up the vanilla game a bit and wanted to know if there are any folks out there with experience with this mod. Also looking for a way to make blocks less durable for plays and more durable for Zombies. It just seems way to easy for them to take out a new players work. https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?31730-Valmod-Pack
antihuman 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2017 You can easily install this mod via FTP but don't have the server auto-restart or update as this can overwrite some of the files you would rather not have overwritten (at least in my experience, like serverconfig.xml). I would also stick to the valmod expansion instead of the overhaul because the overhaul would require the users to download the mod to their own computer so some of the graphics and other things will work. The expansion is different though because that is mostly XML files. Those file are pushed to the client making the changes seamless to the users connecting to the server. If you feel like you want to change some things about the blocks or other items in game, you can download notepad++ and edit the XML files. Just make sure you back them up before you do so in case you mess up and the game spits at you for not having the correct format. Hehe. Hope this answers your questions and that I didn't miss anything. Good luck and have fun! RainStorm
krackshot 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2017 On the other side of your question, I've had experience with Valmod. It's pretty fun and adds a lot of depth to the game.

ArnMan 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 @mjr819 I am wanting to setup my own true survival sdx server and was wondering if you had any problems. Did you have to disable eac? How were you able to install it?
