  1. Yea, same issue here, since the patch 19.3 the .ini file got revert to default. Also with there maintenance going on at the moment some servers get screw up, so I recommend to back up your save file as often as you can, because this issue will result in a wipe if you do not. 2 of my servers got maintenance on them and when they came back, the server weren't starting at all. Have to do a complete wipe on them to make it work again. Lost hrs of work from our player, not to mention it took my 5 hrs to sort the problem out.

    Cheers,

  2. I'm working on a new map a 3x3, that's mean 9 grids total and my main concern is the starting field of the player once they enter the server.

    Map Layout:

    --     1 Polar Region

--     2 Tundra Region (East and West)

--     2 Temperate Region (East and West)

    --     1 Equatorial Region

--     2 Tropical Region (East and West)

    --     1 Desert (Low & High)

    --     2 Freeport each in those Grid: (0,1) , (0,2) , (1,1) , (1,2) , (2,0) , (2,1) and (2,2)

--     Spawn Region for each starting grid

    My Goal:

What I got in mind is to make the player spawn in 7 different grids, when they start on the server. Grid (0,1) , (0,2) , (1,1) , (1,2) , (2,0) , (2,1) and (2,2). I want to give the ability to the player, to start in the region he wants. If he wants to start in the Equatorial Region then he choose grid (1,1), if he want to start in the Desert Region then he will choose grid (2,2) and so on.

Also in the region that they will choose to start in, they will be able to choose from North or South and East or West depending on the grid they are, so 2 freeports in the Starting grids.

    What's Next:

--     in order for them to be able to see all the 7 servers should i set all 7 starting grid as home servers?

--     in order for the player to choose a spawn point, you must edit each island by going to the Island Instance and set up each island spawnPointRegionOverride from 0 to 1 (let's say you got 2 freeport). How you set up the grids? I know for a fact that if you set up the 1st freeport to 0 and the 2nd freeport to 1 in the same grid it work but what if you got 2 more freeport in another grid. Should you start over to 0 again, so freeport1 to 0 and freeport2 to 1 for that grid or you set them up to 2 and 3 for those freeport since 0 and 1 is already use in another grid!

    Cheers,

  3. Is it possible to replace a certain creature on an specific island with another or adding new creatures to the island. I try the spawner override in the map editor but don't seem to work. Unless I do it wrong. I got some islands on my map that don't have the bear in it, I would like to replace the cobra with the bear.

    Cheers,

  4. ok, will do.

Got an issue atm my server #5 keep on stopping after 3mins when I click save and start. All check box that you mention above are check but server stopped after 3 mins, compare to the others, that took me about 30mins each server. Still got 4 other server to wipe, 5 with the server 5.

    Cheers,

  5. The way I cleaned my server(s) was to stop all servers in the grid and then check the following to wipe them one at a time.

    - Reset Template

    - Clean SteamCMD

    - Clean Mods

    - Clean Save

Then hit "Save and Restart" at the bottom and when the server comes up it should be set back to the SS default. From here you can load your JSON and etc. Now I also had some issue with transitioning between grids on our 3x3 and had to get into the Redis database to remove duplicate character entries.

Go to the link below for that thread and read through the document I posted. That resolved my problems and we have been running 100% since.

Cleaning up the servers the way you mention, will let you know how it goes in few hrs.

    Cheers,

  6. Thank You for the info really appreciated.

It's a custom map that I made. My main idea was to spawn player in 6 different grid so they may choose the biome they want to. For example if the player want to start in Equatorial well it will spawn in 1,1, if Eastern Temperate in grid 2,0, Western Temperate in 0,2, Tropical in 1,2 and 2,1 and Desert 2,2. But don't know if it's possible, will have to create 6 home server and will the player be able to see all 6 server so they can choose from, that's my concern. When I try it it the other day, it didn't work, maybe I did it the wrong way. As for now I modify the map so they all spawn in 0,2 in 4 different islands.

    Cheers,

  7. We were playing on a 3x3 server for 3 weeks, then we decide to start fresh with a new map. We've been playing for a week now and we got issue transiting to other grid, some of us will transit and found them self out of the company and others will be send back to home region and ask to spawn there, meaning that they die when trying to transit. Some as well will be stuck with a connection time out and can't log back in at all. All IP's are set correctly, including ports. We got the feeling that the server still working with some save data somewhere.

I think that the servers didn't wipe completely, so was wondering what check box should be check so it wipe it self completely. Mods, Save's Files, json files and .ini files.

P.S: Also can you set any grid as your home server or is it 0,0 and 0,2 the only grid to be set as home?

    Cheers,
