  1. I created a Sub User for my server so that friends who play can stop/start/restart when I'm unavailable if server goes down. However I noticed they still had access to the Reinstall Server (which wipes everything, backups included I believe) and Clean Save folder (which wipes the save data but you'd still have backups... that is if they worked ) Why would a user setup for just limited access have access to these options? If we are limiting it to what it says during creation of the account : Start, Stop, Restart, then thats the ONLY access the sub account should have
  2. When playing and you press escape in game, it shows only 2 players online when website says 4? Refresh console page to make sure the counts up to date, seems odd to me if those #s dont match. In the saved data on server theres a players folder, in thst there should be 1 coded folder per player thsts been on the server, can check the number of folders with number of players you expect to have been on server. I think the codes equate to a code for each player but need to double check how its setup.
  3. Until the comment i gave instructions on how to fix this gets approved, for now you can find my post about "Server backups working?" And i have the instructions there on how to fix this or at least what worked foe me
  4. Do you have a password on your server? If not its possible for people to guess an IP adress for a server on a service since alot of them will be somewhat similar. Also if they end up fixing the listing of servers in community servers when starting multiplayer then people could end up just seeing it in list and joining
  5. had same issue , was able to fix my server by following some instructions for the fix on nodecraft, cannot seem to link here without the reply getting flagged but maybe thats just it needs approval before it posts, dunno, but here is the link : https://nodecraft.com/support/games/palworld/fix-palworld-server-update-wiping-player-progress?fbclid=IwAR1fPCucIH_PlmLIHab1v3U10hWaBSjlYDB3BVRLnsfrrrS0f1-zdc7ArlA#h-restoring-the-save-data-reference-dfa basicly I did the following: Stopped server I opened up the GameUserSettings.ini file that is located at /Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini Edit the entry on this file for DedicatedServerName and set it to the other code thats listed in saved games (there was 2) then restarted and it was back working its now back to the game save from the other day without having lost progress

  7. Download some ftp software on your system. In the ftp software, setup a new connection to the ftp server ip address given on servers control panel. Enter the ftp username and password, may have to set a local folder to use as a transfer point and then connect. Usually the server will be on right side and left side will be the chosen local folder. You can navigate the folder structure on right side. There should be a folder on server called pal and within that a Saved folder. Can copy that folder and then paste on the local folder side. This should download the files locally. Then if you need to revert back to a saved point, should basicly be the reverse, copy Saved folder from local side and paste in the pal folder. That's pretty basic ftp instructions, should be able to google more info on ftp if needed and some information on software. FTPs been around for more than 50 years so there is lots of information about it available
  8. What I noticed on my server and realized about this "outdated" error, is it actually may be a bit of a red herring. When a server starts up/restarts, it will initially not know the version the servers running. On the Control Panel you will see it say something like "Default v" with v being a link that is a grey box with a white outline. This is displayed under Server Details towards the top left of the control panel. Server Details Started (0/8 players) Ready! Last Start: 01/22/2024 19:28:47 Default v if it just says v, it will say the server is outdated. This means it just hasnt realized what version the server is running yet. Once the servers run for a few minutes, if you refresh the page, this version # should update to the version of the server. it will start looking like this Server Details Started (0/8 players) Ready! Last Start: 01/22/2024 19:28:47 Default v0.1.2.0 Currently v0.1.2.0 is the current version. if its displaying this the "outdated version" message should end up going away.

  10. There is no backups listed on the FTP from what I can find to restore from, I believe they were copying off the current state and then restoring it if they ran into issues rather than using any of the actual backups
  11. Ok no does not appear that we can restore a server backup through the control panel UI. If you select a backup to restore, and save and restart it will just restart and the server will be in the same state it had been in I have a ticket in hopefully to get them to be able to restore a backup but we need this ability to restore backups on our own in the control panel to actually work.
  12. It seemed all the data was reset today on the server and prompts to create new characters would happen. Tried restoring backups, but not sure if its either not working to restore or if maybe all the backups are broken or what, as it keeps coming back up in that state no matter what backup I try
  13. Ok turned out that the IP address changed on me.... However now the games acting like its been wiped and having to start over

    Timing out?

    Anyone having an issue where people connecting to the server is timing out? It was working up till couple hours ago it looks like then people couldnt connect anymore.
  15. Found out a kinda work around, Attempt to join a community server that has a password, put your password for server in, hit ok, then choose not to connect. Now connect to the IP address on bottom right like have been doing to the dedicated server. It will use that same password you had entered for other server This let me login to my private dedicated server here
