I woke up to the cool new ready to join icon next to the control panel! Looking good, keep up the good work.

Why would they wipe servers and not wipe local files? Seeing as people can transfer their characters and dinosaurs from one server to another, including local to servers.

Except for the fact I woke up this morning with this issue, did multiple updates and server resets and all of a sudden my server decided to start working. That lasted about an hour and then it crashed and went back to the exact same issue. So it's not ARK, it's the servers.
Are you running custom start commands?

That was a force wipe done with the update that the DEVS sent out, totally out of our hands when that happens.

I'm speaking specifically of the 0/0 population, no map selected, can't connect issue. I know there's a multitude of issues with a lot of servers. This specific issue seems to affect SurvivalServers mostly. So was just pointing that out in case they know how to fix it. Considering mine was fixed this morning when it happened. Not sure if they did it or if the server just decided to start working.
Yup Im talking about the 0/0 and map also. It seems to be an issue with ARK not pushing the update successful

Ok we managed to get online.
Heads up. Adding the server to favorites on Steam does NOT work. It shows the server as offline. If you instead, go to the regular browser on steam for servers and change the filter to the Ark game filter, you can find the server alphabetically in the list by the name it has been named. It shows the same IP and everything.
The weird thing is that even adding THAT server to favorites, in the favorites window, it will not work. It shows not responding. I can join via the regular server browser though.
We're experiencing horrendous ping though considering I'm in Dallas and it's SUPPOSED to be on the Dallas servers. Ping is around 200'ish.
adding your server to the steam fav is not just copy and paste your ip and port. You will need to add +1 to your port. Example 100.100.100.10:18315
You will need to add the following in steam 100.100.100.10:18316 <------------- Added +1 digit. Value uses a different protocol.

The response is exactly what it states. It does not WIPE your server.
As of now, when you restart ANY server using any provider, there will be a rollback of about 10-15mins unless you save the game right before you restart. Not sure if that clears it up for you, but thats what I got out of read that.

Seems to me when I look at the Steam Server list, SurvivalServers are at least 50% if not all, depending those who debranded their servers, for having this 0/0 population, no map selected, unable to connect problem.
My server is based in your Dallas location and this happened when I updated this morning from v170.1 to v170.4 and somehow, it just magically fixed itself. Then 45-60 minutes ago, my server crashed and failed to reboot correctly and is now showing the 0/0 population and no map selected. So I tried doing a Server Update, still no fix. This seems to be mostly if not only a SurvivalServer issue.

How long does it take for a server to be up and running if I bought one now?
Instant, you will need to follow the instructions to update the server to the current build.

Are you putting the full ip address with the port also? If so that is wrong, It should only be the IP address, the username and password thats provided in the control panel.

- Server broadcast features.
- Auto save features : Options to choose what time frames to do auto saves. 10 / 15 / 30 / 60
- Server wipe option: This should be a fail safe, there might be people find an expoit or dupe method while they are pushing out so many patches.
- Force save before restart with a broadcast notice server is about to restart.
- Special chars in server name without the php thinking its a statement.

enablecheats is not working atm, but here is a list of commands you can use when it works again.
cheat God – Enables God Mode(Rumor has it you can still drown)
cheat Fly – You can fly!
cheat Walk – Stops you from flying.
cheat Teleport – Teleport in the direction you are facing.
cheat Ghost – Noclip, walk through objects/walls.
cheat ToggleInfiniteAmmo: Unlimited Ammo!
setcheatplayer true – Turns on cheat menu.
setcheatplayer false – Turns off cheat menu.
giveresources – Gives 50 of any resource on local servers.
giveengrams – Unlocks all crafting.
ServerPVE – Disables PVP.
ServerHardcore – Character stats reset on death.
ServerForceNoHUD – Floating names become disabled.

Large update, make sure your server gets updated. Added new items and fixed a lot of things.

You need to download an ftp program, filezilla or notepad++ and follow the steps above.

after multiple checkups, updates on the server and testing connectivity from multiple points accross the globe i have found out that some weird things are going on with these servers.
I updated and nothing happens, can't connect no nothing even after following the guides and tips that are on these forums.
doing some simple tests tell me that the server is blocking all connections, all ports are blocked (port in control panel and the +1 port are both closed)
i asked some friends from the US and Australia to perform the same tests and they came back with the same results.
This is all done in less then 24 hours.
i asked for a refund and this was my first and last server i had here for sure.
So your server never came online at all?

Does updating wipe the server?
As of now, you might get a roll back that exceeds 15mins. The ARK Devs should be rolling a fix out for this soon.

Hey guys,
Just found my server listed in the main steam server browser list and was able to connect.
The issue was I was trying to put in the IP/Port to my favorites and that IP was showing as not responding but the server was actually up and available.
Worth a shot for any of you seeing the same issue.

If you are adding your server to steam favs you will need to add +1 to your port. Example xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:18315 in the steam fav , I would add the following ip , but with a +1 to the port. So it would be xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:18316 , even though its 18315 in my control panel, you need to add the +1

The DEVs are working of the ini and should have these options for us in upcoming patches. Not something you can do atm from what I have been told.

ServerHardcore: When you die, your character is wiped to level 1.
ServerCrosshair: Turns on a crosshair.
ServerForceNoHUD: Disables the floating names.
AltSaveDirectoryName: Saves server data to an alternate directory.
GlobalVoiceChat: Voice chat is global, everyone can hear each other.
ProximityChat: Text chat only appears to people that are close to one another.
NoTributeDownloads: Turns off outside downloads of characters/dinos.
AllowThirdPersonPlayer: Enables 3rd person mode (needs testing)
AlwaysNotifyPlayerLeft: Displays message when someone leaves the server.
DontAlwaysNotifyPlayerJoined: Disables message when someone joins the server.
MapPlayerLocation: Shows your location on the map

Can't open console? Try this
Go to Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Config, open DefaultInput.ini in either Notepad or Notepad++ and scroll to the very bottom and remove the ; before +ConsoleKeys=Tab. Save the file, and open the game and try to use the console again
Login as Admin and then use the setcheatplayer command, then use any command from the list below. All commands appear to be working, I have not tested the ban and unban commands though.
