basicly I did the following:

Stopped server
I opened up the GameUserSettings.ini file that is located at /Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini
Edit the entry on this file for DedicatedServerName and set it to the other code thats listed in saved games (there was 2)

then restarted

and it was back working
its now back to the game save from the other day without having lost progress

My understanding is that there are some issues with the steam cmd thingy and how it's reading the input of passwords and whatnot. There is a mention in faq's about this, but I'm not sure if the password is part of that. Make sure you read through the faq's and SS is always very good about making update posts when game wide issues have been addressed.
