DayZ : comment héberger un serveur Badlands

DayZ Badlands is the third paid map expansion for DayZ, following Livonia in 2019 and the Frostline expansion's Sakhal in 2024. It adds Nasdara Province, a 267 km² desert terrain that Bohemia Interactive describes as the largest official map ever made for DayZ. It came out on October 15, 2026, alongside game update 1.30, on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Experimental	Update 1.30 was on DayZ's Experimental branch from September 16, 2026. Bohemia held some Badlands content back until release day.
Fichiers du serveur	Nasdara ships inside the normal DayZ dedicated server app (223350). No separate download and no Badlands purchase is needed to host it.

Some Badlands content is already in the base game. Update 1.29, titled Road to Badlands, went stable in July 2026 and seeded the SCR-17 battle rifle, desert camo gear and tanker helmets into the existing maps, plus Nasdara-themed convoy wrecks on Chernarus and Livonia.

Every official map ships inside the DayZ dedicated server app on Steam (App ID 223350). There is no separate download per map. The mission folders sit under mpmissions (Sakhal's may sit under sakhal\mpmissions instead):

Switching maps means pointing the template at a different mission and restarting. Each mission folder carries its own economy files (types.xml and the rest of the db folder), so custom loot edits made on one map do not carry over to another. Nasdara's cfggameplay.json is a newer format (version 130, with new sections such as sandstorms) than the other maps' version 123, so start from Nasdara's own file rather than one copied from another map.

Faut-il acheter Badlands pour héberger un serveur ?

The answer was no for both previous paid maps. The server-side map data shipped inside the standard dedicated server app at no extra cost, and the paywall applied to joining players, who needed to own the expansion on their own account. Bohemia stated this openly for Frostline, saying it was providing the assets Sakhal was built with free of charge for community servers.

For Badlands the hosting answer is the same: no. The Nasdara mission ships inside the standard dedicated server app, and it runs on a server whose Steam account does not own Badlands. Whether players need to own Badlands to join a Nasdara server is not yet confirmed: Bohemia has not said, though Frostline required it.

Option n° 1 : louer un serveur DayZ Badlands

New official DayZ maps go live in the Survival Servers Command Center the same day they release, which is exactly how Sakhal was handled, and map switching is a dropdown in the Command Center. Every official map is included with the server rental at no extra hosting cost.

You can rent a DayZ server now, play Chernarus, Livonia, Sakhal, or a community map such as Deer Isle, and switch the dropdown to Badlands at any time. Your server settings, mods, and player base stay with the server. A server still on update 1.29 needs the update first: set Server Update to Yes, run update and click Save Settings & Restart.

DayZ servers are available in Germany and France as well as the US and Singapore, and you can switch locations from the Command Center.

Option n°2 : héberger votre propre serveur dédié

Le serveur dédié DayZ s’installe via SteamCMD :

steamcmd +force_install_dir C:\DayZServer +login YOUR_STEAM_LOGIN +app_update 223350 validate +quit

Notez que l’application serveur DayZ ne prend pas en charge la connexion anonyme. Le compte Steam avec lequel vous vous connectez doit posséder DayZ.

To switch to Badlands:

Run the SteamCMD command above to update the server to update 1.30.
Set the template line in serverDZ.cfg to template="dayzOffline.nasdara";.
Redémarrez le serveur.

Major DayZ updates usually hit the DayZ Experimental branch before stable.

Before You Switch

A map switch keeps your server, its address, and your player base intact.
If you run a modded server, expect popular mods to need updates after a major game update. Plan a short vanilla window after the update if your mod list is long.
