Gameusersetting.ini keeps reverting changes

So I wanted to make some changes to the .ini and since a few were mod related, i had to do it manually through the ftp server. I edited the files and things worked fine, but it deletes those changes every time i reset the server or make any changes in the console. Even non-mod changes like showing damage numbers. I'm planning on adding another mod that requires hiding engrams, but it's just too tedious to do it every time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've been having this problem, as well. Been looking into solutions, but still haven't found anything.

We have some mods that seem to write into the .ini file automatically, and any changes made through the console that end up in the GameUserSetting.ini file will stay, but if I try to add anything (hide engrams, change spawn types for things like Gigas), the changes I make through the FTP get deleted and written over after each reset.

I'd like to get a solution for this. I am about 90% sure I am editing the files correctly, and have even set them to 'read only', which usually works if my SP saves try to do this, but not the case for the servers. :/

It is because the console is write only, and doesn't read from the Gameusersettings.ini.  This means unless you go through the whole list and update it also, it will jump back to the last time you used it (which is before you made the changes manually).

Basically once you start changing your ini files manually (over FTP) it is best to continue using that method.

Here is a site that does the the majority code generation for you, which is basically what the console does anyway:

It hasn't been updated in a while, but you can use it to figure out what you need to do for the newer dino's

You can get all the entity IDs from the wiki:
