Ujnex 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 So I've purchased my server and selected the oxide and update the server options, then I downloaded the ftp and left the files in the following dir's. Rust:IO 2.8.0/RustDedicated_Data/Managed and then Deathnotes.cs playerlocation.lua /server/experimental/oxide/plugins Shouldn't the plugins be working now? How can I check if oxide is working properly or even on? also I tried ingame to use rcon.login "password" or call.heli but I get "Invalid command" Thanks for the attention
Goddeloos 1 Report post Posted January 24, 2016 Not sure if you've figured this out yet. First, get the Rusty RCON tool. It will just make your life easier. I know the oxide files may not always be updated by the provider right away. I always check oxidemod.org when a Rust update happens. I'll download the new files and FTP them to the server. Be sure to read the website for the mods you are using. You may need to set admin users, add permissions to users or usergroups, etc. Hope this helps. Pedigru 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2016 Many plugins aren't updated, especially with the last patch. You will want the RCON tool for console access. It will immediately tell you whether a plugin is working. When you upload a plugin, oxide will automatically install and initialize it. This process is visible via the RCON console. So if the initialization fails you'll see it and a message why it failed. Of course the fail message won't be like "Plugin out of date" or anything like that. But you will surely see the "Failed". Also, many plugins require permissions to be set on them for them to work. Explore the Oxide forums. They are a good resource.
