Changing difficulty (Server commands missing?)

Hi there,

 

I am currently renting one of your ARK Servers and I seem to be having issues finding the difficulty settings for my server,

 

A lot of server commands seem to be missing from the gameusersettings.ini file (and yes I have opened the .ini file with filezilla)

 

Could anyone shed some light as to how I might be able to adjust the difficulty of my server?

you need to look in the /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/CleanSourceConfigs/gameusersettings.ini file and copy over what you want to the /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/gameusersettings.ini file. Just remember to have [serverSettings] above whatever you add then restart your server and it will work fine.

In GameUserSettings.ini under [serverSettings]

 

DifficultyOffset=0

 

Right now it the value 0.0 to 1.0   with 0 being normal, and 1.0 being 3X   (community speculation)

offically from the dev release notes I saw  0 as 50% more and 10 as 300% more... I set mine to 0.75 and

they still seem pretty easy...

Do I need to do anything else besides modify the settings file as stated above and restart my server?

Setting difficulty level only affects the max level of dino you see.  a setting of 1 will give you level 90.  I also found this still to easy.  The following is my game user settings file.  Most significantly you will see wild dino damage increased as well as they have more resistance.  Tamed dinos hit weaker as well. 

 

-I also have increased taming speed, you may not want that. 

-My days are also twice as long as nights

-Player melee and resistance are buffed, otherwise the dino's would cream people without pets in the below settings.

- Player and pet health recover faster as well.  You get hurt a lot fighting, nobody wants to wait 30 minutes for a dino to regenerate 4k health.

-Lastly, harvesting settings are a little easier.

 

If you want, you can copy this in, but change your server specific information.
