Space Engineers RCON

With the most recent overhaul to Space Engineer's Multiplayer, a RCON tool was added to allow server admins to administer their server to some degree remotely.
The remote API will not work properly when torch is enabled.

How to Get the RCON Tool

  1. Install Space Engineers Dedicated Server from the Tools section of your Steam library, as shown on Keen's dedicated server page
  2. In Steam, right-click it and pick Manage > Browse local files to open its folder
  3. To start the program simply run the VRageRemoteClient.exe

How to connect and use RCON

  1. In Remote URL enter http://SERVERS_IP_ADDRESS
  2. In Security Key enter the servers security key (This key needs to be exactly 8 characters long)
  3. "The remote security key can be found in SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg using FTP"
  4. In Port, enter the RCON Port from your Command Center
  5. Hit “save” then “connect”

Factorio RCON

Factorio needs no external tool. RCON is built into the dedicated server and enabled with the --rcon-port and --rcon-password launch options. On a SurvivalServers Factorio server RCON is already configured: the port and password are shown in the Command Center's RCON Details section.

Connect with any Source-RCON compatible client and run the same commands admins use in chat: /players online, /promote, /kick, /ban, /server-save. See Factorio Admin Commands for the full list. The built-in admin commands are achievement-safe; only raw Lua via /c disables achievements on a save.

Don't have a server yet? Rent a Factorio dedicated server with RCON pre-configured.
