amullins 4 Report post Posted April 27, 2019 Hello Setting up a modded DayZ server using mods from Steam. I have learned about the special things that must be done with setting your map to custom and building your launch parameter line. I've no problems with that. I have tested with the original dayz launcher and configured the correct mods to load, and everything works from that point. I am trying to use the DZSA Launcher, On the DZSA Launcher I can see my server, but no mods are showing when I use the launcher to query my server for info. On the control panel I have clicked on install for DZSA Launcher. Reading the info popup for the DZSA Launcher selection, this is where this gets confusing. "Selecting this option will launch your DayZ server with the .... launch parameters (only if Map is not set to custom)." How are you suppose to use this feature when you need to have your map set to custom so your mods get loaded by the server during a startup or restart? I will admit I am somewhat confused on this, and I have searched for more information on this within this DayZ forum but not much. I would prefer that if any staff would please list in detail what we as server admins need to do on the control panel to get this working with a server using mods. I prefer to learn and do it myself using the tools provided to me. RIght now the only way I can play the game is using the launcher that comes with DayZ SA itself and selecting the mods. Which for me is not a problem, but many other players use the DZSA Launcher. Thanks
Capps 43 Report post Posted April 27, 2019 To use the DZSA Launcher while you have custom launch parameters enabled add -dayzserver=DayZServer.exe to the beginning on your launch parameters! As long as the DZSA launcher is installed this should properly run the server with mods enabled! If you are unsure if its working you can do the following: Stop the server Connect to your servers FTP and see if there is a DayZServer.exe (should be about 13.4MB) and a DayZServer_x64.exe (~800KB this is the renamed DZSA Launcher) If the DZSA renamed launcher isn't present, delete the DayZServer_x64.exe and re toggle the "Install DayZSA Launcher" from the control panel to "Yes, Install" and set the DayZSA Launcher option to enabled! After this the server should boot with everything enabled! If you continue to have issues with this, please send us a support ticket and we will help you get it setup! amullins 4 Report post Posted July 29, 2019 save any modded files that you have such as serverdz.cfg, init.c types.xml and others. Use ftp client to connect and then delete the DayZserver.exe and DayZ_64 file. Go back on control panel Toggle off using DZSA do a server update/validate once your done stop the server, Toggle on to install DZSA and after it's finish you should see the two files. stop the server toggle on to use DZSA check your boxes then click on the big green start button Give it about 5 minutes then start trying to launch your server from DZSA. DZSA appears to not automatically update the mod's list when you add or remove mods.
