One important note for ARKON

It does NOT like special characters, ie the ampersand (&) in your admin password.

So for those that like super complex passwords, have multiple servers, or that otherwise distinguish which game you're on with something like D&L in your password, change it in your SS control panel and that should help the ARKON tool to connect.

 

I myself have had mixed ability to connect to the D&L server through ARKON, so your mileage may vary.

Mine worked fine with complex password until they updated my server manually yesterday.  I have yet to be able to connect to RCon since.

@beardsman, try removing that special character in your RCON.

 

@DWilson57, I was able to successfully connect to your server via RCON and run a save world command.

 

Both of you are on the same versions, and RCON is open on the specified port.

I have had no problems with the arkon program.

I just recent changed my location from Seattle to Dallas for the server to help try to lower ping times and prior to this change I was able to connect through RCON fine but now it refuses to connect. All information for the server stayed the same aside from the ip and RCON port. I did transfer my save files and other items over as well. 

Are there any plans to incorporate a RCON console through Survival Servers?

The ARKON Tool listed above works well for D&L, and should be considered interchangeable between ARK and D&L until a D&L specific one can be created, though this may never even be necessary. As far as I know, because the tool already exists, there are no "current" plans to implement an RCON tool specifically through the Survival Servers Control Panel. However, Ryan is known for his surprise implementations, and the Custom SS Server Config is well known for being top notch.

So I myself will be waiting patiently to see what kinds of awesome new stuff we get in the coming updates to that Config tool. The team here has been very awesome at hooking us up with loads of features at a time.

 

As for your RCON connectivity issues, open a support ticket, and someone will be happy to help you get it sorted out, and are very good at catching the little mistakes that we often overlook. Two heads being better than one and all that. =)

Are you using all the correct details found on your panel? IP, RCON port & Admin Password to connect?

 

I had no issues connecting with those details.

A commonly noticed issue is setting the port to the game port rather than the RCON port listed. So make sure you're using the RCON port.

Also, sometimes copy/pasting your password from the control panel can cause issues, so try typing it out directly instead.

Also, always ensure you are using the most up to date version of the ARKON tool, by opening the program with the updater rather than the executable.

It may error, but it still works more often that way than not.
