Adding Steam Workshop mods ** megathread **

Hello,

I am attempting to add the "Takko Mod" (lol) to my Exiles server.

The mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=862308584&searchtext=

And I attempted to follow the instructions for servers here: http://www.gamepur.com/guide/25693-conan-exiles-how-use-mods-single-and-multiplayer.html

I am unable to get the mod to work. I have it installed on my side, I FTP'd the .pak to /ConanSandbox/Mods (I had to create the folder) on the server, as well as uploading the modlist.txt file to the same server path.

I changed the contents of the .txt and restarted the server 3 times. The text changes were:

* /ConanSandbox/Mods/Cleanedup.pak

* ConanSandbox/Mods/Cleanedup.pak

* Cleanedup.pak

I am uncertain what else to try, but if I can get this to work, there's a couple more non-op mods I'd llike to add.

Can someone assist?

Thanks.

From the guys at Support (who, I didn't read twitter til today, wow, they've really been overworked) ... remove the * (asterisk) from your modlist.txt and have it just say:

modname.pak

modname2.pak

and so on.

So I tried this and the return error was something along the lines of "The Server modlist must match the client modlist. Disconnecting..." or similar. This happened to ppl with both the mod pre-installed (myself and a couple others) as well as quite a few who did not. So it would appear the server did not "push" the mod to the client in order to allow entry. I can't find anything in my ini's so I've re-engaged the Support team.

Perhaps some of you may have better luck?

We are working on an official integration right now. :)

My question is, will restarting the servers automatically update mods? Or thereabouts? Having to manually upload with the ftp everytime a mod gets updated is going to be really annoying...

Thanks, SS

I too am having an issue, I added the workshop code under mod ids and restarted my server. No mods folder was added, so I added on to the \content folder because the tooltip says that's where the folder would be added and the mod still is not activated. Is more still being done to insure mods work properly or am I missing something more?

EDIT:

I got it to work, not exactly sure what I did, added workshop id, added mods folder to \content, added the .pak for the mod, and modlist without the " * " also added it to my client side mods list. For those still struggling you may want to try that. I think people who want to access the server may need the mod on their client side too. Not 100% on that.

I added the Mod ID to the control panel interface and did nothing else. But I do not see the Mods Folder created. I restarted twice.Anyone know if I need to do anything else?

It did not create under \ConanSandbox\Mods. Also in your help box where you enter the Mod ID it says "The mod(s) you specify here will automatically update each restart and will be updated in your \ConanSandbox\Content\Mods\modslist.txt file."

Either way it did not show up under either directory. I had been trying to add the Mod manually but every time i would start the server the Mods directory would automatically get deleted. Then I saw this post and tried to do it using the Mod ID setting in the CP. But still having issues.

I have fixed what I think was the issue on your server and also adjusted it for everyone.

Restarted your server and it should work. If you don't have the mod id 862116109 in your client-side subscribed you shouldn't be able to join.

Otherwise you should be able to join and you will see that mod is installed.

PS thx for the card, that was very thoughtful and our team appreciates!
