Quick question about custom maps used on server

How does it work with custom maps and saving what's been done on it?

The original TheIsland map simply saves itself(and sits in the background on the server), so you can switch between a custom map and it no problem.
Are there certain folders I need to save when switching back or will it also save itself for next time I load the custom map?

You cannot switch to a custom map without full player/data wiping.

If you wish to revert to the previous map you were playing, then you can use the backup restore feature.

This also applies to TheIsland (the built in default map for the game)

Hmm, odd. I've switched between TheIsland and The Center twice now without losing data for either of them.

I started The Center with my level 89 character.

Just trying to understand it fully before switching over completely :)

  • 2 years later...

So if I'm running an aberration server and I change it to say, scorched, and play for a bit, then decide to change it back to aberration, all of my buildings and tames will still be there??
