Structure Decay Destruction Period

Hellow,

I want to enabled "Structure Decay Destruction Period" on my server , but default it's set to 0.

I'm concerned if I put the wrong number it could have a negative impact on our player's builds.

Does anyone know the scale for the timer?

For example,

  • If I set it to 5, is that 5 minutes or 5 days?
  • Does structure demolish by the time period ending or it begins to decay when the time period is met? If so, how long would it take to demolish from time met?

Ideally, I'd like to set it for around a month or two. Just to clear inactive player's structures and allow actives more real estate.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have a specific time amount for you for each increment of the "Structure Decay Destruction Period" multiplier but I do know that the default is 1.

It accepts a numeric value like 0.0 so you can play around with that. If you find out, please let us know!

Worse comes to worse, you can roll back if you do lose any important structures!

Will do, thanks :)

I must admit, I can't help but to be scared of risking ppl losing their build and then roll back :P

Getting an issue with our server sorted now. Once we have it back online, I'll give it a shot!

I played around with this and 1 is the default. I'm just going to throw in numbers as an example, but aren't going to be accurate.

If at one everything is at the default decay time. Like wood = 5 days, stone  = 7 days etc.

Making it .5 cuts those times in 1/2.  Wood becomes 2.5 days and stone 3.5

Changing it to 2 wood becomes 10 days and stone 14.

Again these numbers are just an example and not accurate, but likely very close.

Makes sense.

Having the time of decay would give us peace of mind knowing that going from 1 to 2 is likely to double and 3 would triple the time it takes to decay.

I still haven't tried it. Had some data loss with an update and everyone's kinda on edge right now in the server :P
