Hey guys, Can you help a beginner out. I have purchased a server through SS, and on my control panel it lists the IP/Host address. So then I start up CE and choose online and Direct Connect. It asks for my ip and port. I type in the ip from the IP/Host address and the game port number from the information popup. But then CE just searches and never finds the server. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, PIP

Good day, a few hours ago I acquired the server I was seeing the forum and the guides, I also saw the web page that they left to see the Ark commands but there are certain commands that do not work or maybe I am writing them wrong, such as getting a dinosaur tamed, it never comes out with Blueprint Path and even the creative mode, I hope someone can help me with the commands or with this problem I can not find a way to keep my character as administrator after disconnecting, thanks I also can not find my server in the list, with or without a password, never find the server, I can only invite my friends through contacts on Steam

Hi, I am playing with game with a few friends on my server that I purchased through here. When going through a guide on how to start your own server the poster mentioned a command so make players always show up on maps. (Command: ?ShowMapPlayerLocation=True) But he says to but in in a launch.bat. Which i know the server does not use. What file would i put the ShowMapPlayLocation command in to make it work in my server? Was thinking it GameUserSettings.ini ,but I wanted to be sure before messing with stuff.

I just purchased a server and I am seeing options for an FTP Password, but where do i get the ftp client? Also, where would I go to configure my servers files to set up stuff like vegetarianmode, etc, could I use the FTP client to do that? Thank you, xnootxnootx EDIT: I figured out how to do both of these things. I apologize if I wasted anyone's time.

So i ordered a server, had it up me and some friends jumped on built a few things then I did a config change so there was no decay on buildings. After the server restarted it was a new map, we were all dead, and nothing we built or had was in the world. Any idea what could have caused this? -
Heya! Aberration is coming out today - I'd like to update the server we play on and have the new map installed (so it's ready for people to play) but it doesn't show up in the choices of maps we can install? Thanks in advance, Alli

Server keeps lagging anytime anyone harvests, 24./80 players it starts to get bad. ive tried everything except the clamp check box. Some live chat from customer service sent it to me but it didnt copy right ( my fault) Just needing help stopping this harvest lag. Ive tried a lot of variables

I started a server, and everything seems to be going okay, except for I have disabled certain dinos, and they keep spawning. I have reset the save, tried to adjust parameters, tried to exchange what they spawn as. Ex Argentavis to Dodo. Still, the dinos I don't want to spawn, spawn. Help!!

Everytime I put the server update option to Yes, run update or Yes, run update/validate, then I click on Save settings and restart game server. Then it tells me it's updating, restarting and might take 20 minutes. After that is done, the server update option will go back to -- Only if Needed -- It also keeps telling me: Outdated Version - Your server version may be outdated. While im trying to put a setting in there and it automatically gets turned back to -- Only if Needed -- What am i supposed to do??? It's bugged

I am new to running Rust server and need some help. The "custom launch parameters line" is limited to 256 characters I believe, but adding header image, seed number and seed size takes up most of that limit. How can I add a custom server description without having to worry about the 255 characters limit? I want to describe the server in more details. Is there like a file or something I can upload? Please guide me. Thanks in advance.

I created a server with some friends, this is as far as we got. We have not altered anything in the control panel that would affect the server. I remote connect to the server. I can see it on the multiplayer list, there is no mission or type listed. I join and type in the password, i join the server and see wait for host, i am immediately kicked/session lost. How do I fix this so I can play on the server?

I just started my server from this hosting site, running on the Ragnarok Map with 3 mods. (Structures+,The Liopluerodon's big brother and Classic Flyers) The map and mods work just fine, but each time i log out i lose all progress i made. The old character is still in the world with my tamed creatures and items, but the game forces me to create a new one each time i log back in :C Never had this issue with a server before, so any help would be appreciated. -
I am new to ark and I want to put my server in everything for x6, maximum level of wild dino 150, maximum level of player 120 and after tamed 100 levels more, plz help me

Hello Everyone, I need some help with a server. My friend and I have been trying to get the SE server he purchased to have wild dinos with a max level of 150 and to that effect I have read 10 pages worth of proffered solutions that don't seem to be working for us. Can someone help by giving a step by step of how we are supposed to follow these instructions to create the desired effect? I have found several answers by Rawblin and I must be messing up the steps he posted because It still isn't working for our server. "First, make sure you have [server Settings] in your GameUserSettings.ini file. Then underneath that either create or change DifficultyOffset=1.000000 to 5.000000 or whatever you wish. Then underneath that either create or change OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0 or whatever you wish. Save the .ini, send it to the server via FTP, then restart the server. Once the server is running again, you can either wait for dinos to be killed and the new spawns will be the proper level variance, or you can wipe all dinos on the server (which usually crashes mine so be prepared) with "admincheat destroywilddinos", no quotes, in the console." So here are my questions. 1) Is the GameUserSetting.ini file the text file in my files? (If so we do have that there) 2) What is FTP? We have tried a lot of things and when we wipe dinos we still get lowbies. We found the FTP and the GameUserSetting.ini but when we add the Override line it does not show up in the .ini (and we have edited it with the parameters already on the .ini Thanks for your help Cthaeh -

Hoping this is the right spot. Since i cant figure it out in the server area itself, as a lot of things are very VAGUE on the values etc... im looking for someone to walk me through changing wild jerboa levels, and what = what for harvesting etc x.x thanks Ana

Ok so i loaded a few mods, and i've got myself set for ddos protection via dallas server. Initial load up has ping set to nearly 300.... when its never even been that on my other servers (official AND unofficial) an i play on EU/OC servers as well as NA (as my NEW server is...) Sooo like what gives? Is it really my mods, which work perfectly on the other unofficial NA server i currently admin/play on? cause they're all updated, an they're the EXACT ones.. no more an no less... Sooo, i'm not sure exactly whats going on. I did try some ping/lag reducers per the help section already, but they don't seem to have worked. Unless, i missed a step (which, not perfect - so i could've!) Oh, one more thing... when will scorched earth information be implemented like the regular ark, for engram choices since they brought the 2 newest dinos from ark into scorched earth map either yesterday or today.. Also, how does one change the level of the wild dinos without using a mod, is that on the server settings or is that IN the server itself as admin the player? Mod IDs in use are: 510590313, 554678442, 633831197, 569786012, 630601751, 564895376

Ok recently I have had issues with Dinos glitching out near the big redwood trees and only way to get them out is teleport them out but they always die. How can I help players on my server to fix this without killing the dino on teleporting?

First i would like to say Thank you to any one who responds. I have been modding arma 2 servers for over a year and i have never run into this problem. When I set up this new server i started with default files from SS. It has Epoch, Orgins , Napf settings. At first i added just the WAI, never had a problem with it before. This time when the missions come up they only have 1 or 2 AI , and they are not really aggressive. So i backed out checked the files , turned the missions off and added a couple of static AI and some patrols. Once again I added 6 total static AI and only 1 showed up. and i could stand right in front of him and he wouldnt respond. I checked all the settings and he should have killed me from 100s of meters away. Well the patrols where just sitting around. The helis where on the map and the AI where sitting in them but they just set there in the field and never started the chopper or fired at me. So i thought maybe it was the WAI so i took them off and added DZAI and DZMS. Same response except all the AI show up, there are plenty of AI but they are non aggressive or just take forever to fire at you, and the same with the patrols they just get in and out of the vehicles but dont respond or patrol. It seems the server is set to super easy and no natter what the settings are in the AI it dont change anything with the aggression. Once again i have added these files to dozens of servers and never had this problem, can someone please enlighten me to what i am overlooking or just dont know, thanks. -
For some reason, and I'm not sure why, my RCON gets spammed with 'Exception: sql error: disk I/O error' until the RCON freezes and the server crashes. I've made a ticket for this and am waiting for an answer, but I'm wondering if any other forum users have any insight?

Is there a way to change the notifications for automated restarts? My players have been complaining of losing items that were in their crafting queues because they don't see the notification. Ideally I'd like to see notifications every 30 seconds after 5 minutes remain, and once 30 seconds remain once every 5 seconds. Thanks in advance.

Hey I just need help to find out a easy way to change max level character to 1000. When I trying doing it in the console in the modify server config, everytime i click on add a level two blank boxes comes up. the "how much xp you need" and how many engrams you should get. But it just takes a long time and i wish you the modifer would help a little more another thing I want is every time you go in a new level after level 100 it will take 25000+1000 and then level 101 25000+2000 and then level 102 would be 250000+3000 and after all that stuff at level 900 it would take so long time like 250000+800000. Is there a fast method to do these things? if so plz commend down below
