  1. Just asking because we only just had the Extended Base Mod installed by SS the other day and it took me a couple days to get it to work. The latest update is saying we need to go into the database and disable the Apex buildings. Starting to be more trouble (and $$) than it's worth. I'll figure it out. =P Thanks.
  2. Do we need to pay another fee if the original install was done by SS? Do admins have to update themselves? Just curious.

If they are spawning now then you are most of the way there. It's probably just a matter of going through the settings and editing as needed. Keep in mind that there are dynamic missions and static missions. You can have them spawn in random places or they can be set with coordinates to have them spawn in the same place every time. If it's allowed maybe you can post your config and I'll take a quick look. Keep in mind that I'm still learning this but I've got my missions set up pretty good for us at this time. =P
  4. Fair enough question, but yes, I did. We have since resigned to keeping the blips on the map. It's lower on the to-do list right now.
  5. Wondering if there is a way to force the server to update the database either right before or right after I shut down/restart the server. The problem is that almost every time I edit the mission.pbo and upload the edited one, player's vehicles and items are either missing or moved back to a point 1-3 restarts previous, though the player is where they logged out. This often results in the player being many kilometers away from their vehicle that had been right next to them when they logged out. Would logging in as admin in game and issuing a shutdown command help this or is that the same as doing it from the SS control panel? ARMA Exile Thanks.
  6. Will do. I just wasn't sure if I was just missing something on how to actually USE the mod or not.
  7. I had the SS team install Extended Base Mod a few days ago. It appears to be fully installed on my server but for the life of me I can't figure out how to actually access the recipes and build any of it. What am I missing? I did read on the mod page at Exilemod.com that the admin has to add the recipes. Is that the case with a SS install? Do I actually need to do something or am I just being a nub? Thanks.
  8. Got the Mod installed and mostly working. Now I am dealing with BattlEye kicks. When I try to attach the tow rope I get kicked with... (BattlEye: SetVariable Value Restriction #0) I'm trying to find where to edit the BE exceptions but I think they have changed how things work since I last hosted a server. Any insight is very much appreciated. Edit: Found where the files were hiding so far nothing has helped. In the setVariableVal file I added... 7 "" !="true" !="false" !="[0-9]{1,2}" !="sa_tow_ropes" !="SA_Tow_Ropes" !"sa_towing_vehicle" !"SA_Towing_Vehicle"
  9. I'm trying to adjust either one of two things... Either have the Regular Difficulty not show friendly or hostile units on the map or... have the Veteran Difficulty allow third person view. (my friends will cry if I don't let them have that, personally I like 1st) First I understand that "they" have overhauled or are in the process of overhauling the difficulty system. That being said I can't tell if the info I am reading is outdated. So far what I have tried is to open the Admin.Arma3Profile and adjust the class flags in there. The obvious one that I tried first was the 3rdPersonView tag in the Veteran settings, but that is already set to 1. Yet when I change the difficulty via the SS control panel there is no 3rd person view and the check boxes above the difficulty dropdown in the control panel don't seem to have any effect. Is there a separation somewhere? Does Exile use a different difficulty setup? So then I changed a couple of the Regular class flags, namely Autospot and ExtendedInfoTypes. These were suggested elsewhere and they sounded promising. But they didn't seem to change anything. I can still see friendlies and baddies on the map. Does anyone have an up-to-date explanation of how to configure this? Thanks. ~Vert
  10. Thanks guys. I'll give it a try. At the moment my server is down and support is fixing it. Will give it a shot after. edit: btw, I only added the @AdvancedTowing and also tried -servermod=@AdvancedTowing. There was nothing set originally and Exile was running fine so I didn't think to add that. Still pretty much a noob so you may hear from me a lot in the coming weeks. Apologies for any stupid questions.
  11. I'm trying to install the AdvancedTowing mod onto my Exile server. I uploaded the mod via FTP. I believe I did it correctly. (been a while since I have done this) If I add the line "@AdvancedTowing" to the parameters, when I try to connect i get caught in a loop on the loading screen. It alternates flashing the message in the bottom left corner of the splash screen "Connecting" with the random silly messages they added to exile. It will do this until I hit escape to get out of it. If I disable the Custom Launch Parameters I can connect fine. Do I understand correctly that I don't need to add "-serverMod=" on the line? And just to make sure I'm actually installing it correctly the @AdvancedTowing folder should be in the root directory? And I also have to copy the keys to the right folder? Am I missing something? (likely) Thanks. ~Vert
