  1. Hi, I plan to advertise Default PVE Official server settings for Arberration. Will you have this info at launch?, or are you waiting to see what is put in the wiki? Max lvl Max dino lvl Engrams per Difficulty offset ect.
  2. "Couple min" Got delayed, 3 hours. Currently steam page is saying Approximately 2 hours remaining. Feelsbadman
  3. So I know how to do it using the control panel. ?OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=true?ShowFloatingDamageText=true?ForceAllStructureLocking=True?GameModIDs=895711211 Would go in the ModID's. When attempting this with any mod I've ever used in the past, it has worked perfectly. I tested it with other mods recently and it still works fine. With the exception of 1 mod, "Classic flyers" Trying to make a mostly vanilla server and we want the original flyer speeds and ability to put points into speed. The Mod is working for the masses, so It does not appear to be in a broken state and everyone says it's on my end. To manually install a mod to a server they tell you to go to the GameUserSettings.ini and search for "Activemods=" and then add the mod number in front of the =. I remote FTP'd to my server and when I went into GameuserSettings.ini and searched for "ActiveMods=" It was not there. Do you have some other workaround to install mods to our servers that bypasses this? Or does it not exist here because I need to add it manually? i.e remote accessing the server going into gameusersettings.ini and adding in the line ActiveMods=895711211 Thanks for your help!
  4. I checked the box in the modify config to "Show Player Location on map" This worked for us in the past but I tried it today and it's not showing our location. I don't see any posts about it on the Ark forums, did something get bumped or deleted when you went in to change max player level?
  5. Also note that http://ark.gamepedia.com/ARK_Survival_Evolved_Wiki is very outdated in many of the things they list. And by "very outdated" I mean inaccurate for over a year... When The Center came out it was released at difficulty 5 and wild dino max level was 150, very shortly after they changed The Island default to Difficulty 5 (150 wild dino level). Regardless of that though the Ark wiki claims that it's still 4 for The island, and 5 for The Center and this is 13 months old... sigh This is really something you guys should ask the Devs for, shouldn't be hard to get them to simply post the defaults, and makes changes to their post when they change them. I'd really like a truly default server. Ps: Despite the mean looking cup of coffee avatar, non of these requests are intended to come off in a negative way, and I appreciate all your support in making Ark server hosting more easily available to the public.
  6. So I'm curious how the extra Tek levels work, should unofficial servers be capping levels at 100 and through finishing each of the teck difficulties (Gamma, beta, alpha) ect.. you unlock 5 extra levels per difficulty which works in a different way from just gaining exp. Or do we need to have cap at 115? If the game does it in a different way for the last 15 levels, then you may have to re adjust the max character levels back to 100 instead of the 115 you changed it to. Also Dino levels before and currently are off, so default difficulty is 5 I'm not sure if you changed that yet but I use an override command for my server to change it to 5. Which makes max wild dino level 150 (same as official) After you tame a wild dino however, default servers let you level it 71 additional times, your default is 67 times. Also have you looked into what the defaults are for harvesting since the patch where they gave the option to change individual harvested items? For example increasing the fiber you get from harvesting berries?. Because I noticed on default servers you get more fiber than you used to, I wonder if on default they've edited some of these settings. Currently all of yours are at 1 Also do engram points still match official? Tldr: * Player levels may need to be tweaked back to 100 depending on how Tek levels work *Dino levels are wrong, you should be able to level 71 times after taming, currently you have 67 *Default server difficulty should be 5, Not sure if you are still 4 or not I use an override. *May need to look into Harvest rates and Engram-per-level distribution
  7. Ah, you've apparently updated since the last time I made the server... the settings weren't default at that time for player levels or dino levels. I'll look through the rest tomorrow after work before I host the server, I appreciate you updating them. If anyone know's anything that isn't an exact match for the current version of ark for PVE official servers please point them out .
  8. There are quite a few things, one of them though is Max character levels, exp for the levels, Max dino levels, and how many levels you can add to your dino after taming. I believe the taming rates/mating ect are also off, but would need to do further research to confirm... Does Ark not provide any info for server hosts about default settings? Where did you come up with the initial settings you are using? I started a server in the past and advertised default settings and a week in the community collapsed because people complained about settings that were not default ark, I didn't write them all down though I just gave up on that. But I'd really like to come back to the game and want to do "Default" properly this time. Ps: I know we can edit the levels using your control panel, but for every setting that is not default its added work, and people wanting "Default" ark servers shouldn't have to go out of their way to get them
  9. Default "Survivalservers" and Default Official Ark servers are not the same settings, do you have any plans to update them now that we're pretty well into EA at this point and they aren't changing as often. I have a 1 year server and would like to make it clone Ark's Official PVE server exactly, as this is how it'll be advertised for players. Anyone have a template I can follow or would support set this up if I ticketed? I'm a little surprised the Default settings aren't a match over a year into the game
  10. The irony is killing me. You start your reply off with "Don't Assume" and then you ignore everything I wrote and assumed what I was complaining about. Notice how I said "I was aware of the issue of the Difficulty not being default due to the fact that ark changed it recently and Ryan already commented on it saying he'll get around to changing the default Difficulty to 5 to match official" That is understandable, he may be a busy man and changes sometimes take time. Now following logic when someone says "DEFAULT SETTINGS" those would be whatever the default settings Ark had at the time he created them (Since most of his "Default settings" are official settings). Following logic again you might assume that the default is either below the current amount of times you can level a tamed dino (Ark has been adding more levels over time) OR caught up and its 66. What logic would NOT dictate, is that the default settings for dino levels RANDOMLY are almost TWICE what official servers are. That AND the fact I potentially have to tell everyone their Dinos are op and destroy all their work is what this "Rant" is about.... NOT the server difficulty (I've already manually changed that with an override and wiped all wild dinos) If you're going to whine about what you assume the "Rant" to be about, how about you instead read what it's about so you don't end up just doing the same.
  11. So this is a bit of a headache, I selected defaults for these settings assuming they would match up with official servers. And now that my community has Dino's and leveled them I don't want to take their work away from them. But I am really annoyed because they're almost double what default is. According to the wiki and the forums, after taming a Dino you should be able to level it up 66 more times. However we are able to level ours 120 times >.< I noticed there is an option to go back and customize this to bring it back down to 66. But speaking for current and future users of SurvivalServers.com please try to keep default settings actually default Thanks EDIT: I am also aware that default difficulty on official is 5 and your servers are 4... This was an easy fix that I caught right away since no Dino's were above 120. However it took quite a while for me to discover by max leveling one of my Dino's that your default Dino levels were also incorrect, hence this post.
  12. Is there an option on the control panel that I am missing for entering in "Command Lines" For the server. (NOT) to be confused with adding to the .ini file which is located in the bottom of the panel. Reason being is since they added the not being able to build near beacon drops I can no longer add to my base and it's currently in shambles. I'd like to add the command line "?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=true" To the server EDIT: Did some digging and found that the search feature for this website is blah, and using it was not able to pull up any question like this one which was surprising, manually looking through the "View new content" feature I found someone else had asked and it was answered by Ryan. Ryan suggested that you add PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=True in the .ini box in the control panel, or add ?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=True to your custom launch parameters. Now adding to the .ini file for this does not work/did not work because this isn't an ini file change. And when you being new to this website see him suggest "Add it to the custom launch params" You'd likely as I did assume that is located in the "Advanced Launch Parameters" button... however there is no option there to post your own lines, only check boxes for ones they added themselves. Where you actually find the "Custom Launch Parammeters" area to add your own command line, is on the main page of the Control Panel disguised as "MOD (ID)s" which is the place you would post your ID numbers for your mods. So to fix this issue, in the mod ID's section paste "?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=True" and problem solved!! NOTE: If the mod ID area was empty you can ignore the following -> however if you have mods then you now need to add "?GameModIDs=" before the mod ID's Example: If all you had before was "731604991,566885854,804569540" <-- list of my mods And you wanted to add the feature to allow building near supply drops. It would now look like "?PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=True?GameModIDs=731604991,566885854,804569540" This is tested, and it worked for me... my base is fixed!!
  13. Greetings, not sure if this is a faster method to get a response than the support ticket, but seeing as this is time sensitive I wanted to give you guys the option to make a sale . Question below: Hi, I am in the market to rent an Ark survival server and I would like to start small with the likelihood of adding more slots at a later date. If I were to pay for a 1 year server at 10 players and get the 20% discount, but half way through the year(6 months) I decide I want to make it 30 players. My questions are 1: Can I do that, change the number of players at any time. 2: If I were to pay 1 year for 10 players, and change at 6 months to 30 players, do I just pay the difference from 10 to 30 for the last 6 months? and do I still get the 20% discount on the last 6 months at 30 players? 3: I have never refunded a product/game/service but having read through some of the feedback of people who had serious issues right out of the gate and/or the quality of the servers didn't meet expectation, what is your refund policy? I ask purely for peace of mind. Thanks for the help.
