Yes that's exactly how it works and that's exactly displayed clearly on the tool itself:

If you wish to make changes to your valheim_plus.cfg in FTP they would not appear on the tool. The tool is just a helper to write your valheim_plus.cfg file not interchangeable with FTP.
It will take us some time to add each new config as they are doing it regularly, so if you need the latest options then exclusively use FTP is my recommendation.

The new config options have been added to our Modify Valheim+ Config tool.
It's very important to perform a reset and re-enter any changes you made considering new changes (for example the Stamina Drain settings are now multipliers not flat amount adjustments)

This is not correct. All you have to do is restart your server to update.

It's not missing it's just that first checkbox. I guess it can be reworded slightly but the V+ dev decided that one section would have a slightly different wording compared to the enable=true for each of the other sections simply enabling those sections. You need to have that first checkbox enabled to enable the second one. I don't quite understand why it is a section enabler boolean.

@Ryan PenningtonI would venture to guess most people having issues with this are doing what I was doing when I couldn't get it to work, which was making a folder, adding the files to it, then zipping the folder. As soon as I did exactly what the instructions said and just clicked the two files together and zipped them without putting them into a folder it worked for me without an issue.

You have Enforce Mod Version Check unchecked.

Basically if you have this unchecked it is removing the @0.9 from the version string which in turn allows non V+ clients to connect. The caveat to this is that your client side valheim_plus.cfg will need to have the enforcemod=false as well (it does not auto sync) which would have to be set to any V+ connecting clients to that server.
So the solution is to either keep it checked and only allow V+ in or manually update every V+ client to have enforcemod=false on their valheim_plus.cfg client-side.
Added a little information to our config tool so that future customers are aware of this limitation.

It might sound like a stupid question but did you remember to press the "Save Settings and Restart Game Server" button at the bottom of the control panel?
Another thing to try is setting "Server Update" to "Yes, run update/validate" before restarting the server with the new world.

I actually looked into it yesterday and you are right it just disappears from the client's end (shows up on mine)
I was actually under the impression it showed up including the reason (we provide one for every post hide) - so my apologies there!
Unfortunately our forum software doesn't have a good way to do it without a lot of manual work. Will continue to look for better options though, thanks for the feedback.

Also to add a point of additional clarity we have yet to see what happens when Valheim is updated and how this mod will affect save data. So we're still at the very least waiting for the next server-side update to see what happens to servers that have heavily utilized the mod for server save assets and how that will impact on each update.

You will not be able to host Valheim Plus until we officially support it.. that's a big IF we support it. It's extremely unstable and risky to allow customers to modify core files on a new game like this. We'll see what the direction of the community is over the next couple weeks but for now I would recommend running a VPS or dedicated server if you want to manipulate the game. I'd much rather integrate a modding platform like Umod or something that doesn't require a client side patch as well. So we're still at a wait and see here - sorry to disappoint but we have to be very careful.

No, it will rollback 20 minutes though (the save interval)

As of today's patch, F5 - save on a hosted world now responds with feedback in the console, "Saving..".
 

I opened a ticket with support and the issue was resolved in 8 minutes. Top notch customer service!

AFAIK typing Save from the command line in F5 does nothing.
UPDATE: This has been changed in subsequent Valheim updates. You can now type save in F5 menu as Admin to save on the fly.
